1. Great sounding bass and very groovy bass playing! GLWTS
2. +1 I had one of these and never really used it enough, because of playing 5 string basses more regularly. This one looks really cool though.. GLWTS Nick!
3. Very nice bass! I had a Tobias Classic 5 about 20 years ago and it sounded very much like this one; to my ears, a full, throaty kind of sound - it was a very funky bass.. GLWTS.
4. Try Parcel Monkey's DX Freight service.. I just used them to courier a heavy item and they were half the price of other courier quotes I had. Good service too..
5. Just bought a Schroeder cab from Kev which arrived today. What can I say about this deal.. Well, right the way through, Kev was a pleasure to deal with and made everything possible by being willing to package and ship the cab to me, even though he'd had a bad experience shipping a cab previously. Really knows his stuff too when it comes to cabs and gear generally, which was really helpful to me in making a decision to buy the cab. Suffice to say, the Schroeder arrived in the most bomb-proof packaging I've ever seen and I'm pleased to say it's in all in one piece and sounds great.. So, deal with Kev in complete confidence folks: I can't recommend him highly enough! Thanks Kev
6. Thanks Fraser..
7. Sold an OC3 pedal to Fraser.. Nice easy transaction and a great person to deal with. Cheers Fraser - I hope you enjoy the pedal. Nik
8. Hi Wal, Cool - would love to see the video! I'm sure Stew would be up for a gig at The Crown at some point.. I still use a 4 string as well, but I do like playing a fiver as well.. If you want to borrow one for a gig or two to try it out again, let me know? Nik
9. Played a charity gig last night in Littlehampton; it was celebrating the 20th anniversary of a band called 'Laughing Gravy' with all proceeds going to McMillan Cancer Support. See here: http://laughinggravy.info/ Basschat's very own 'bassninja', a.k.a. Wal, who started this thread back in 2007, is the bass player in Laughing Gravy and I have to say, it is always a joy to hear him play! Wal is one of the best players I've seen over the years - truly gifted and creative in his approach to playing the bass.. Another local Basschatter, Chimike popped down too, and I know he'd agree with what I've had to say about Wal's playing.. If you ever get a chance to check out Wal and the band play, then you must - you won't be disappointed! Also on the bill was John Bentley from Squeeze who played guitar last night as opposed to bass (http://www.johnbentl.../Blog39,40.html). John did a fine set which included on the drums for two songs, Woody Woodmansey - drummer in David Bowie's 'Spiders from Mars line up back in the early 1970s . It was just fantastic! ' The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' was the first album I ever bought when I was 11 years old, so to meet Woody and hear him play was a real privilege. I was playing with a local singer-songwriter/poet called Stewart Ross and we did about 20 minutes which went down well, so can't complain at all. Thanks Wal for the use of your rig and for inviting us to come and join your party - here's to your next 20 years with Laughing Gravy Nik

12. I meant to upload this picture two weeks ago, but got distracted (at work) and then forgot.. So here it is - a pic of the Barefaced cabs that Alex brought with him on the day. A very handsome collection, I'd say.
13. Just sold an EBS pedal to Chris who was a pleasure to deal with. Everything went well from start to finish and, athough he's relatively new to Basschat, I'm more than happy to recommend Chris to everyone here. Thanks Chris; hope you enjoy the pedal.. Nik
14. Urban Karma (Bryn) demoed one of these at the South East Bass Bash last month and it was pretty impressive! Some very cool sounds, but very useable too.. I'd suggest you send him a PM to get more info.
15.
OBBM had this cab at the recent SE Bass Bash and it sounded HUGE!
+1 A really surprising cab this.. I first heard one at the gallery about 5 years ago and it sounded great there, but it sound even better at the Bash!
16. Thanks.. Well, it's just sitting around gathering dust at the moment, so I'm keen to move it on. At least that way it'll get used.
17. BUMP for Price Drop.. Now £45 + p&p
18.
Great stuff Silv, thank you for all the time and effort you've put in capturing the Bash in all its glory. You deserve a medal!
+1 Great pics Silvie! Some lovely gear that I never really got to see on the day.. That EAD cab looks fantastic - did anyone get a chance to use it and if so, what it was like?
19. Great little amp! I had one for a while and it's certainly one of the best lightweight heads out there for the money IMO.. Good luck with the sale..
