Fantastic photos! :-)

Price/Trade Value: £225 o.n.o. Hi Folks Here for sale is my SWR Triad 3-way bass speaker system ; it’s a fantastic sounding bass cab which is in 7/10 condition and is all original. Triad Spec:

4 Ohm, 400 watt, three-way speaker enclosure featuring (1) 15" speaker, (1) 10" speaker and a tweeter. Very accurate studio sound from SWR's only three-way enclosure.
Features Bottom Slot Port
Spring Loaded Rubber Grip Handles
High Quality Metal Input Panel with Heavy-Duty Attenuator
1/4" In/Out and SpeakonÆ Input Jacks
Horn Protection Circuit
Power output N/A
Impedance (Ohms) 4 Ohms at 1KHz
Height: 27", Width: 23", Depth: 18.5"
Power Handling 400 Watts RMS
History I bought this from Lee-Man here on Basschat about 5 years ago and it’s been the mainstay of my bass rig for gigs for 3 of those 5 years. I've used it at lots of gigs and whatever amp I’ve used it with, it's sounded great! It's one of the newer models, which you can tell from the silver grill on the front but I don't actually know how old it is. In use: Soundwise, with it’s combination of a 15” driver, a 10” driver and 5” horn, the Triad does it all for me without being too clinical or too hi-fi IMO. It really is a great sounding cab! As well as at gigs, it’s also been used at the South East Bass Bash Jam Rooms for the last 3 years and has worked brilliantly there too – used with a variety of amps and by a wide range of Basschatters. Two years ago, I remember Alex Claber (a.k.a. El Supremo at Barefaced) A/B-ing his Super 12T prototype against this cab, and Alex was pretty complimentary about the sound it makes, though it doesn't have the power handling of the Super 12T admittedly. Nevertheless, that was a very good endorsement from Alex I thought.. Over the last few years on Basschat, I've always commented on how good these cabs are whenever they come up for sale; and if it wasn't for the fact that I've just moved house and need to raise funds to buy a lightweight rig to make loading/unloading easier, I wouldn't be putting this up for sale at all. Photo Here’s a photo of the cab at the 2012 South East Bass Bash last September. As you'll see in the photo, this cab has a black gaffa tape 'cross' over the front grill, which I put there to stop the grill making a noise and rattling - I can take that off if that's preferred, but I personally found it sounded better with it on there (there's no religious connotations with the cross,I might add ) Anyway, please PM me if you'd like to see more pictures. Reviews etc Lots more info about the history and technical features of the Triad can be found here:

Bass Central info on here about half way down the page -http://www.basscentr.../swr_amps.shtml
Talkbass: http://www.talkbass....-cabinet/cat/28
Harmony Central: http://www.harmonyce...ad/td-p/1796745
And here's the link for the Manual: http://support.swram...0074459000a.pdf
But, having said all of the above about how good this cab is, I really do have to get a smaller and lighter weight rig now, so the Triad is ready to go... Collection/Delivery etc I think it goes without saying that I'd much rather this was collected in person, but I will ship it very securely packaged up necessary. I've checked with Interparcel and it is possible to ship this for about £20 which is quite reasonable I think.. Plenty of Basschat 'chat', tea/coffee and other beverages on offer to anyone who wants a trip to Littlehampton on the south coast in order to come and try out the cab first.. Price-wise, I think this is about right at £225 having looked at what other Triads have gone for lately on Evil Bay but if I'm way off, please drop me a line and we can discuss it.. Recently or just now, Mansons had one for sale at almost £400 here: http://www.mansons.c...-triad-cab-5470 Anyway, as ever, thanks for looking and if you've any questions, feel free to PM me or ask away here. Sadly, I can't join you all this Saturday but I want to wish you all the best for a great day! The whole event looks really exciting and well organised/promoted, so hopefully it'll be the first of many.. Looks like some great gear will be there too, which, along with meeting some fab fellow Basschatters, is what these events are all about! :-) Looking forward to the photos already. .

Cheers Ferg! See you again soon, Nik

Hi Folks, Just had the pleasure of meeting Ferg, a.k.a. gusgus, to do a deal on his Squier VM5. I'm happy to say that Ferg is a great person to deal with, very honest about his gear and makes a fine cup of coffee! More than that, I had a brilliant conversation with Ferg about all things bass (naturally), music, his absolutely fascinating studies and loads of other cool stuff.. So, deal with Ferg in confidence folks; i'm more than happy to recommend him to the Basschat community! Thanks for the bass! Nik

There's a free app for Android devices called 'Band Name Generator' which might help...

IMO we should always encourage, celebrate and support creative ambition, especially in the arts ... I can still remember my Physics teacher at school telling us that 'dreamers move mountains'. So I'd just say to the OP; Good Luck and follow your dream!

+1 to all the tributes above.. He was a really talented bass player IMHO; always played the song first and foremost. I didn't know him but it's great to hear those personal stories about him and what a cool, down to earth bloke he was. RIP Trevor

Many thanks for the kind words Et! Likewise, it was a pleasure doing business with you And I'm very glad the RBV has gone to a good home.. All the best and good luck with the rest of your tour! Nik

That's terrible news! I've been a Doors fan for over 35 years now, so it's definitely a sad day in our house.. Time to put on some of the tunes and remember what a great musician Ray was and what a great band they are! RIP Ray.

Just sold a Roscoe Beck 5 to Etienne and he was absolutely brilliant to deal with! Super-fast payment, great communications throughout and a very relaxed approach to getting the deal done, which really helped as I was in hospital for a few days and he was/is on tour.. I can only reiterate all the above positive comments that have been said... and especially to say that Et's a real credit to the Basschat community! All the best and enjoy the bass Nik
i cant see any neck dive on the bass, it has strengthening carbon fibre inserts & the middle 2 laminates are hornbeam , a wood used for load bearing structures , the outer laminates are purely for show anyway as the machine heads are located further to the centre . cheers for the comments .
I think the phrase 'neck-dive' here means that with some basses with a large headstock (like the old Wal Pro models), the bass can be a bit neck heavy.. that's all. It's not a comment about there being any structural problems with the bass or the neck of the bass, far from it in fact... As you've rightly pointed out, these old Wal necks were not only very well made but also, reinforced by the addition of 2 carbon fibre strips, so they're virtually indestructible! -
Very lovely and a great price - I actually prefer these to the customs - I used to have the chance to play loads when the dealership was in Manchester, the neck profile (quite a pronounced V from memory) suited me perfectly
+ 1 Having owned and played Wal Pro basses many times over the years i'd say that there is a bit of neck dive, but not to the point where it affects your playing. This looks like a very nice example to me, and the case alone is worth £200, so it's a pretty good price for a classic British bass! Good luck with the sale. -
