Here we have a Truckstop special - this was a 1981 Blazer that Truckstop stripped back after it had been painted black (yuck) - the resultant bass is a kind a waxed zebra strip finish. Its actually rather sexy, and after I bought it I got the neck alignment professionally sorted and I then proceeded to use it for few years as my main bass (in preference to my 73 P Bass!). All the rest is original - and if you've ever played one you will know that the pups are super hot!! Weight is about 9.5lb. Im not playing it so much these days - and I know I will regret selling it but needs must. It can be yours for the bargain price of £220 collected from Wotton under Edge, near Bristol. Im happy also to post this bass (at buyers cost) - but I don't have a hard case for it (I could do a good cardboard box with bubble wrap inside - and send it insured). Any questions please ask. Interesting bass at a good price.
Couple of things though,
the body colour appears to be a silvery grey, is it a stained finish or does it look grey because its on a blue background?
Camera angle, my eyes or alignment, the strings look biased to the upper edge of the fretboard? D string looks closer to the dot than the A, larger gap from G to lower edge of board?
Cheers,
Norm

Norm, The finish is a result of black paint being sanded off the body and then waxed (sounds horrid but it looks lovely) - Yes just had a closer look at the bass - the strings do appear to be slightly biased towards the upper edge of the fretboard - I can 100% guarantee that this doesn't affect the playability or sound though - its a classic vintage MIJ bass at a cracking price!!

Thanks for the extra info MattyK.
I remember blazers from the eighties being thumping good basses (& guitars) for the money & know they are highly regarded by quite a few on here. I'm looking for a passive p style as a backup/changer & am giving this a good hard thinking about! Might have to come & see it in the flesh & have a play on it?
All the best,
Norm
