  1. Don't listen to the liars on here. Tell her the truth, and all about how you really feel. Then come back and let us know how you got on! đŸ˜Ŧ
  2. Low volume is the new way! 😎 I'm thinking of starting a new tribute project called "Whinge Against The Machine". 😀
  3. There's only so much you can keep saying about the bass! 😃
  4. I like it - it looks mental. 😃
  5. I never knew Canterbury was in Kent. 😮
  6. Without punk, you'd have had no new wave, no Seattle sound, no what I like to call "The Matrix" music... Hell's custard, I've actually bored myself sick already! đŸ˜Ŧ
  7. Nice one mate, good luck, and just be yourself (because everyone else is taken)! 😃
  8. The Ric is a 1973 model 4000, Dave. I bought it about 30 years ago... they're rarely seen, compared to the popular 2 PUP models... the 4000 was the first Ric bass (1957?), although they were originally neck-through-body construction, mine is one of the later set-neck series. Fred Turner played them on the 1970s BTO records!: https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/fred-turner-of-bachman-turner-overdrive-playing-news-photo/88368686 The J is nothing exciting mate. It's one of these: https://vintageguitarsus.com/bass-icon-details/#vj74mrbk I don't like the fake relic treatment. I thought I could live with it, but nah... probably going to upgrade to a better Jazz. 👍 It shows what a true enthusiast you are Dave, to be interested in my small and modest rack of instruments. I'm honored! 😮 ATB - Phil 😀
  9. That's the view from where I'm sitting! 😃 Hang on, here's one I took earlier:
  10. Funnily enough, I had my 5 guitar (ÂŖ15) stand delivered today: From R to L - a black J and a P and a Ric' (obviously). Never mind the blue shortscale J (I might give that to the kid next door), or the Fender acoustic (I am not a folkie!). And never mind what may or may not be behind and/or under various sofas. Therefore I have space for a couple more! 😀
  11. Best wishes to you butty. (with the op' and the new bass) 👍
  12. I'm no art critic, but most of these are basically drawings of lady parts. And one is a horse having a wizz. HTH. đŸ˜Ŧ
  13. It's funny, I was idly listening to everything ever done by Tom Tom Club (as you do), and came across this badly rehearsed version of the Talking Heads classic:
  14. My lips are sealed, mate. 😀 edit: Oh yeah, that was Fun Boy Three. Same thing though. My version sounds more like the bananas. edit edit: I meant The Go-Gos.
  15. Many years?? Miss Spears wasn't born very long ago... 🙄 Back in my day this was all fields, etc etc. ☚ī¸ 😃
  16. I'm intrigued about who chose Psycho Killer and the 3 Stranglers songs in the set? 😎
  17. Nice one Dave, I'm pleased for you. And I see you have a Wookie! 😃
  18. Or butter on the fingers. 😃
  19. I bet it gets 37% better if you back off the treble. 👍
  20. I'll see your five notes and raise you Uptown Top Ranking. 4 notes. 😃
  21. As above ^^^^. Turning the top and mids down a bit will probably reduce the effect you're hearing through the speaker. If your amp is set quite low, you're also probably hearing a lot of finger noise directly, that won't come through the amp... try that out by using headphones if you can. But again, as above, it'll be alright with practice. 👍
