1. album is awsome zoe, I mailed billy yesterday and got a prompt reply: Awesome! Thanks Drew! You made my day. Yes, Ray plays the whole CD. He is a spectacular player & great guy. Very kind of you to write---thanks Bro! Spread the word if you'd be so kind. Your Friend, Billy ----------------- Original Message ----------------- From: drew To: Billy Sheehan Date: Apr 7, 2009 3:41 AM Subject: holy cow! hi billy bloody hell or holy cow alright! what an album - it arrived this morning right on delivery date from amazon.co.uk, big pat on the back to the supply and distribution company who quite obviously nailed it. thank you I noticed it has the 14th of April on your front page I must be one of the fortunate ones! amazon info did have their delivery schedule 7th of April. Spectacular drumming by Ray Luzier - does he play drums all the way through? if so it is unbelievable, what a player! do you think he would join my band? he, he! good luck with the album, hope its a great success - certainly, again, deserves to be. your friend drew He'll be ever so pleased you started this thread Zoe! andy
2. cool! ta andy
3. found dolphin music online superb! very fast dispatch and delivery and great follow up/customer support after order. andy
4. how odd! the college I work for spent in the region of £30k with their online education dept - not one single issue! if I had to say anything out of the ordinary then...instead of two peavey max 112's, they sent me two max 115 instead for the same price. cant say anything other than they were great! andy
5.
Ask Ashdown. Their products may suck but I have heard their customer service is great.
ooohh, very synical! bf I see your not bias in any way!
6. the vbc is supposed to be very good but a tad expensive the mbc - chinese made - I dont know much about except where it is made. andy
7. Don't think there is much better than Ashdown in the value and bang for bucks stake! And, you will have customer services in the UK! There is a lot of affordable/budget 810's out there, all made in China by the looks of things - never been a proponent of Marshall bass gear! guitar gear is tremendous though as is their customer support. It all comes down to tone, depending on what your looking for you can be assured that Ashdown will give you that 'British' tone and plenty of versatility. andy
8.
AS you already have a GK410 - why not just get another one. 8x10's are only for bass players with roadies
I wish! the drummer helps out though and I do have to say the ampeg 810 is quite easy to move about. andy
9. mag is made in china - abm is made in uk and according to the good people at ashdown all cabs mag/abm come fitted with blueline speakers as standard. your gk should power it effortlessly my tace v4 and ampeg svt 3pro had no probs come to think of it neither did the mag 300 i had on loan when my old swr 750x was being repaired and it handled it too. andy
10. the sound from both of these cabs is great - the blueline speakers handle anything. the most significant thing for me was the ability to fine tune the sound because they are not full of mid range muff nor boxy bass or hissy highs. very transparent and clear with tons of bass. for me ashdown is the British ampeg except ampeg have 'that sound' ashdown are a little more than one trick ponies, particularly the cabs - the abm 115 is the best damn 1x15 cab I've ever had the pleasure of using. andy
11. the abm is slighlty smaller and more maneuverable..
12. talk to obbm he is the legend! knocked me up a seriously good cable - pro even - and had it deliverd for £25, you couldn't have bought the parts for that!! andy
13. Legend indeed! thanks Matt, you are a very patient man. deals a cracker! delighted andy
14. master and tube gain (drive by me too) full on and gain at three works fantastically well for me.
15.
my 2 cents... Eden410XLT hard to beat sensitivity wise... very fine sound. Forget that made-in-vietnam-cheapo-sh*t-ampg-crap. Doesn´t even come close to eden, epifani, schroeder, bergantino, ea....
beg your pardon sir! thats a generalistic statement! my Vietnam built SVT 810 is a demon of a cab and... in my 30+ years of playing have finally found the perfect cab for me and by god have I tried enough 'cheapo' rubbish and boutique alike! in repsonse to eden, epifani, shroeder, bergantino etc... turn on the tv, to any music channel - live stuff preferably - and check the amount of svt 810 being used by bassists, infact, just visit the ampeg site to see the amount of named bassists using their stuff! one more thing...an EA nm410 neo when new £1799 S/H £350 Wow! aint that worth a mention! most gear is over priced and names just become a snobbery issue - I truly like eminence made speakers, thats where I started next was the right box for me! your ears are your ambassadors as with horses for courses! andy
16. pm thornybank, he has a loverly ea 410 neo which is awsome and well priced. http://www.eaamps.com/product_detail.asp?ID=290 andy
17. very cheep very cheerful - bought from academy of sound 5-7 years ago... andy
18.
Would you like to point us to a source for that statement? It seems extremely unlikely to me, but I'm willing to be convinced.
a rock magazine from the 80's where eddie was on the cover and if my memory is correct it was directly after billy was on the front! andy
19. boosting the mids is a great piece of advice. certainly cuts...btw, what type of amps is your guitarists using? it's real difficult to cut through marshall 100w valve heads and 4x12 cabs. andy
20. billy's playing is more suited to the guitar?? billy was tapping and shredding in the early 70's - gimme a list of guitarists who were...Eddie Van Halen says Billy was his main influence when learning to tap and shred! billy is a great guy and certainly does his best to please his fans. so his playing might not suit all neither does every other impresario out there - horses for courses folks but to have that style, ability and technique in your armoury well.... andy
21. great collection! one thing though, £10 per record is a wee bit on the expensive side. andy
22. great turntable! if you add an audio technica at-110e to it...it sings beautifully. andy
23. as in pm tell me more... andy

Yamaha BB615

yamaha bb series?? nothing other than superb! workings mans tool and well road ready! I totally adore my BB714...it's all I use! andy
25. right at the moment it is about £1200 - £1326 for a new one of these! this bass is pristine and in nearly new condition - still has the shop tags if I remember correctly. so nearly 50% of new is some price for a bass of this quality. http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/71578 http://www.thomann.de/gb/yamaha_attitude_ii_blk.htm good luck rob - still think you should keep it though. andy
