2.
Hi Thanks for the replies guys, Andy, when I bought the AXL the previous owner had a setup done and some light mods carried out but the action seems a bit high. I have only had this bass for a couple of weeks so still getting used to it and the first time I have played a fretless, when I become more familiar with it I will have it set up for my playing style (rough to awful). Regards Jim
rough to awful! well your in good company here Jim! andy
 3. dimarzio will power or model one? these aren't mudbuckers - have a very definite tone on their own and...very customizable because of the wiring. andy ps - absolutely love telecasters basses! - http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...l%3Den%26sa%3DN

 15. ^^ used to own a minirig too, should never have got rid! Got the perfect ten last night...its a bit thinner tone wise than I expected - I think I had kind of expected it to sound like a trace blx 80...can hope eh? Anyway after a few hours of playing it's pretty good actually, small, compact, good build quality, clean and clear, enough variation in the eq to allow for customising and setting desired tone, more than adequate volume for the house and does the job for me. recomending?? difficult! I suppose its all down to personal taste and considering the issues I had when loking for an small practice amp!! I could only recomend that you try out as much as possible but...the perfect ten is a serious contender. andy

 17.
By 'practice amp', do you mean 'noodling in the house'? If so, the Perfect Ten is definitely one of the better ones out there.
yep, exactly what I mean! cheers andy
 18.
£900 is fair for a used Warwick Streamer Stage I, but it aint gonna happen...
Don't know about that...last few have sold on ebay for roughly if not, this amount. Gear price is a funny thing at the moment, fluctuating all over ths place but then again some things are fairly stable... andy
 19.
i have used yamaha for years for wind and brass instruments...and a clarinet and they have been consistently good on quality and reliability
+1 on that! quality in construction, tone and manufacturing consistency is a welcome approach taken very seriously by all at Yamaha. andy
 20. Checked out a lot of practice amps in Edinburgh music shops over the weekend...had a budget of £100; was looking for something fairly small but beefy in tone but not that horrible boxy sound - found nothing suitable! Orange Crush B20 - nope Mrashall 15 - nope Line 6 Lowdown 15 - nope etc, etc, etc...all to middy boxy rubbish! Checked some net reviews on the ashdown perfect ten and decided to buy one. Anyone got one of these, use them and can give me an idea of what it is like? all comments and experiences appreciated. andy
 21. check new prices though because they have risen in price considerably over the last month. the newer version initially, was made in the US but now made in Vietnam. Solid and reliable superb amp! if in good nick £500 is fair. good luck andy
 22. talk to rumour6 he knows his stuff with this one! andy
 23. definitely me too! andy
