  1. Fender Jazz Bass USA 1981 Terrific '81/'78 ash/maple Jazz Bass. This one was originally sunburst but has been stripped down to natural, which looks just great. The serial number is an s8... Which runs from 1978 until the early '80s. The neck seems to have been dated 1978, but the stamp is a bit blurry. The pots and pickups are dated 1981. The body has the beautiful rounded curves that returned under Dan Smith in the early '80s. More pics: This is hands down the best playing and sounding ash/maple jazz I've laid my hands on. It has the pleasant deep and clear tone you want from such a bass. All hardware and electronics work like they should. The neck is straight and adjustable. The bass has some usermarks, but nothing special. She looks great. Another great feature is that she only weighs 4,3 kg. Which is not much for a ash bodied jazz from this era. The pickup covers and original hardcase are included in the sale. It has been set up with new elixir strings. Asking €2.500 I am located in the Netherlands, but I am happy to ship at buyers risk.
  2. What a totally ridiculous price for a 1970 P in this condition. I doubt this one is for the collectors as they tend to go for as mint and complete as possible afaik.
  3. Nice Japanese Tokai jazz bass from the early 80s. These basses are well known for being a good copy of the originals. The bass has a lot of usermarks, bucklerash and dents all over. The neck is straight and adjustable. The frets show wear, but action can be set pleasantly low without problems. The other hardware and electronics work like they should. Weight is about 4,05 kg (kitchen scale). Asking €695 I am located in the Netherlands but I am happy to ship at buyers risk.

  6. Fender Am. Std. Precision Bass Good sounding and playing USA precision bass in Olympic white (which has yellowed nicely). The bass is technically good, but has some cosmetic flaws which explains the lower price. There is a big crack in the finish (not the wood) on the back of the body. Probably it has been in the sun too much, which could well be the case given it has discoloured to a yellow creamy colour. Otherwise there are a few smaller cracks and usermarks. As you can see on the pictures, the fretboard has a very, very nice grain to it. Playability is very good, it has been set up with a comfortable low action. The bass is strung with thomastik flats. The original case is included. The case has 2 cracks (repairable with glue?) but is very well usable. Asking €795 I am located in the Netherlands, but I am happy to ship at buyers risk. As for trades I am interested in; jmj mustang bass (black), Ampeg V4(b) or a decent 60s style jazz bass (roadworn fiesta red per example)
  7. I'm after one of those for live gigging as addition to my B25B.... Need to be a EU situated one for me though. I'm sure this one will sell, they are very well regarded.
  8. A lighter gauge strings and low action could make a difference too. Of course an on board preamp helps to control the frequencies, but the controls on an amp can achieve that too.
  9. Maybe it helps a bit to toy with the pickup heights and balance between them.. you can lose that deep clarity if they are too close to the strings. Jazzes can sound a bit different from each other though. My '81 has that very clear and warm jazz sound, where my former 71 definitely had more pronounced mids.
  10. I have them slanted, adjusted to the string heights/curve. I don't measure but just use my ears. I put the pickup as close to the strings as possible, but where the strings do not touch the pickup while playing and no weird sounds or distortion occur.
  11. Bunch of pedals that don't find frequent use anymore: All pedals are in good working condition. The EBS has its original packing, the others don't. Darkglass sold Q-tron €135 Mooer €40 Boss €55 EBS €120
  12. I'm now prefer for a satisfying trade for this great bass. Added trade options in the ad
