  1. Superb bass by Tino Tedesco: This is a great bass, built by Tino Tedesco is Switzerland. Build quality, playability and sound are superb, and it balances nicely too. Weight is just around 3.6 kilo's thanks to the chambered body. The top has some nice figuring, and the fretboard shows some pretty birdseye. The pickups are active EMG, controls are passive VVT. The sound is clear but pleasantly warm. It kinda sounds like my ash/maple Fender Jazz, but with a bit more range. It's very versatile, and could easily be used in a lot of situations. As mentioned, playability is great; it's a very easy playing neck with low action. The frets are in good condition too. The strap lock system is Dunlop flush mount. The buttons are included. The condition of the bass is good. Of course it has some usermarks and small damages, but nothing significant. The truss rod, hardware and electronics are all perfectly fine. €1.250 Trades now preferred! I am looking for a good passive 60s style jazz, a good Fender Jazzmaster, an Ampeg V4(b) or maybe some other cool ss amp. I am located in the Netherlands, but I am happy to ship at buyers risk and expense.
  2. Is the op 100% sure about the serial number? Seems a bit too much for coincidence I think...
  3. I have a S8 Fender Jazz which dates to 1981, so indeed these late 70s serials can cover a few years. Sometimes you can distinguish the 70s ones from the early 80s ones by looking at the countouring. As the early 80s can have a deeper belly cut and more rounded contours than a 70s instrument. These were the first steps forward in consistent quality towards the American vintage range and other Dan smith era models, which were very well built. Here you can see the difference between both s8 serial jazz basses. The last picture shows one (mine) that has been finished in 1981.
  4. If I remember correctly, these already came with an original USA stingray preamp installed from the factory. As sound concerns, these basses are on par there with their more expensive brothers completely. At least that's how I've experienced them.
  5. I've owned a few silver series and they felt as good as most regular japanese fenders. A silver series telecaster guitar I've owned was really great playing and sounding. It had a very thick poly finish.
  6. Partial trades still welcome on this one. I am especially after a good playing offset Fender guitar like a nice Jazzmaster.
  7. Down to 1.500 No trades at the moment.
  8. It's a shame indeed... I've traded a lot with UK members here on bc before the new situation. Though I've bought a bass from the UK in brexit-era that went through customs without a bill. That was lucky, probably not a common thing unfortunately.
  9. There are a lot of dealers that stick to their high asking prices though. For example there is an amp dealer that has nice stuff but priced way too high. Made him an market-fair offer on 2 items that have been on there for 2 years... Declined. Good luck then In general, I wouldn't advice to use reverb as a reference for the actual market value.
  10. Bump with pricedrop €1.550
  11. I'm not that technical to really understand that kind of stuff. Sounds like a good explanation though👍 I've decided to go with the 8Ohm cab, as it's much more practical when using my other heads.
  12. There is a red one for sale on reverb at the moment (Italy based).
  13. Well, i did A/B the cabs. I didn't expect them to differ so much in sound as they do. Volume wise they are pretty much similar with the Ampeg B25B. The 4/16 Ohm cab seems more mid oriented where the 8 Ohm cab has definitely deeper lows in the same neutral EQ settings. Also the the highs seem a bit warmer and more clear on this one Both cabs sound really good, and maybe the differences narrow at higher volumes. Now I have to decide which one is the best choice for me... I am leaning towards the 8ohm, though the more mid focused 16ohm cab can of course be great as well. Let's not forget that there's is an amp on top with some eq on it, and i also have a preamp pedal I can use. It's a tough one for me. Anyone has some suggestions to come to a wise decision?
  14. Yes they come in 4ohm and 8ohm versions. My four has been rewired to 16
  15. That's what I mean indeed. I'll use a cut effects patch cable for that. I now have 2 glockenklang Quattro cabs at home; one wired at 8 and the other at 16 Ohms. Will compare them tomorrow, I'm curious if they respond anything different.
  16. Thanks for the answer. Both cabs concerned are Glockenklang Quattro, so pretty much the same I guess.
  17. Yeah I found the sellers contact details in my mail and asked him. He indeed confirmed that it had been rewired (which makes total sense given the head it was used with). Thanks all.
  18. I've got a Ampeg B25B tube amp. The speaker out is for a 16ohm cabinet, but apparently it can be switced to 8ohm by putting a dummy plug in the output, and connect the 8ohm cab to the ext. Speaker output. Will there be a difference in volume between 16ohm and 8ohm, given the cabs are the same apart from impedance (glockenklang Quattro)?
