  1. I wouldn't think much of it, other than that it's probably helpfull to get a low action with correct break angle over the bridge saddles. Many old Fenders even came with shims from the factory.
  2. I've sold a bass post brexit a while ago, and used ups and their customs declaration procedure. I assume the process for a straight sale and trade will be pretty much the same.
  3. Fender '75 Precision Bass Cool Mocha precision from the '70s. The pickups are dated to 1975, the pots are dated 1974. It's a well playing and good sounding P bass. The neck is straight and adjustable, and allows low action. It's a pretty light instrument too, just a bit below 4kg! with covers unmounted. The neck is pretty small at the nut for a precision at 39/40mm As you can see, the bass has a lot of small damages and honest playwear. The tuners and pots have been replaced, but the original 1974 pots are included in the sale. The chrome covers and thumb rest are not original to this bass. Asking €2700 Ideally I'd offer this bass in a partial trade for a player grade <65 Fender Jazz with Brazil fretboard, max 4kg, and a refinish (as it keeps te value a lot lower). I've got more stuff to add in a trade! Otherwise I'd might be interested in (partial) trades for; old Music Man Sabre with rosewood fretboard, Modulus Flea in fancy finish. And maybe a nice vintage Mustang Bass. The bass is located in the Netherlands. Local pickup is preferred, but I am also happy to ship at buyers risk and expense. Payment wise I accept cash on collection or PayPal friends.
  4. Today even basses from the late 90s get offered as being "vintage" more than once... I've owned a '79 Fender that had soft areas in the dark part of the sunburst. In some places fibres from the case interior were stuck in it. It were just a few little places though, not as bad as the lefty from the reverb listing.
  5. I'd happily exchange a combination of this basses for a good <65 jazz bass with Brazil fretboard; - Rickenbacker 4001 Azureglo '74 - Fender Precision '75 mocha (not for sale, only available for trade) - Fender Custom Shop '62 Jazz Bass (also for sale here)

  7. Classic head from SWR: Its a nice amp with a good sound. I think it works specially well with active basses. I haven't used it for a few months now as I've purchased a louder amp to go with my standalone 8 ohm cab (this head goes as low as 2ohm). Asking €250 I am located in the Netherlands. Its available for local pickup or I can ship at buyers risk and expense.
  8. Nice one! You don't see these being offered very often. The sticker in the neck pocket seems te be helpfull with a more specific dating: Glwts!
  9. Fender CS '62 Jazz Bass Relic Very nice Custom Shop Fender Jazz in aged candy apple red relic finish. It's a lovely, well built bass. The neck feels great and allows low action. The sound is classic jazz bass. I'd say it sounds a bit warmer than my 65/66 jazz. She sounds great with either flats or rounds. She will be sold strung with Fender nps rounds. The bass is in good condition. Of course it's a relic model.. Everything functions like it should. The weight is 4kg on my kitchen scale. The original brown tolex hardcase is included, as well are the certificate, chrome covers and some other stuff. €2.750 I am located in the Netherlands. Local pickup is preferred, but I am willing to ship at buyers risk. I am also interested in trading for a 1965 or older jazz bas(max 4kg, Brazil fretboard & clay dots). Refinish or some minor parts exchange aren't a dealbreaker.
  10. I assume the most important characteristic of the neck type is the nut width? I think the C necks will all be the same in nutwidth. I've owned a 66 P with C neck which felt really wide compared to my other basses. Playability was really great though, but for my hands a slimmer profile is more comfortable.

  13. Haha 😅. I'll write in dutch next time and let Google translate do the work.
  14. I almost purchased a 63 Jazzmaster guitar from a well regarded guitar shop (Kauffman's guitars) here in the Netherlands. It would have been all original apart from a refin and an added string tree. On closer inspection after the initial purchase the following could be added in the list of mods; replaced fretboard (really good job though, hard too spot at first sight), tuners, pots, 1 pickup, wiring.... I handed them back the guitar, and they weren't too happy. Actually they were whizzed that I took off the pickguard to check as it's so vulnerable. They accused me that the pickguard got warped and shrunk in the short time it was with me, because I took it off for inspection which I should never have done. Luckily I kept screenshots from their initial listing which showed that nothing had changed while it was with me. But they tried to pull me off... As for prices of old Fenders; you also often see it happen that sellers copy prices from other (reverb) sellers. Some add a little to that price as a margin, and after a while every 78 jazz is listed at €3500+....
  15. Nice trio. Those Flea basses are something special indeed. I like the look of that 2 pu Wal too, never played one though. My guess is that Bunion got a very cool 63 P in return... Also lovely🙂
  16. I also use the 760fl set. Mostly I play with both pickups full for some nice punch. But with the neck pickup solood, it's steady enough as a P imitation for rock classics. Years ago used to be all about stainless steel rounds on a jazz, now I have 3 jazzes with la bella flats and one with nps rounds... Things have changed.
  17. Totally agree. A Jazz with flats (I use la Bella) has a bit more meat imo than a jazz with rounds. I really enjoy how it sounds and sits in the mix.
  18. I actually think the stock pickup sounds pretty good on my CV 70s, with enough growl and deep warm clarity. Overall I think it's a really great bass. I only swapped the tuners for Schallers.
  19. My guess is that a potential buyer decides if will be functioning as a collectors item or a player. Or both. So if someone wants to play it, weight and balance can be important. Though I'd be surprised if this bass weighed more than 3.8kg.
