  1. Hi There, At the moment I have a ´77 Ampeg V4B head with Glockenklang cab in my livingroom (as my band quit almost a year ago, I had to take it home from the rehearsal space). For home use, it is quite a violent set and I dont use it often. I very much like the sound of this set (deep, growl, clarity), but I know I won´t be gigging anytime soon....so actually would be more happy with a smaller and less powerfull combo for daily use. This means I am thinking of selling my set and replace it for a smaller combo that could also have enough power for gigging if required. Anyone has a a suggestion for/experience with a solid state or hybrid combo that has that typical Ampeg sound? All the best Patrick

  3. I think it's kinda cool to see that precision pretty much as how it left the factory, with the LPB finish still being LPB and no discoloration of the neck too. There can't be many like this around. I'd never buy it though as I prefer to see some history on old stuff I own. Aside from the price, as that would be another reason for me not to purchase. For those interested; it might be worth contacting Andy in advance, maybe there is some negotiating possible on the price. His prices aren't always fixed.

  5. I actually have it listed on a few places. There is some interest, but nothing final yet. It's just a matter of time I guess 🙂
  6. There is actually a small crack in the thin part of the F hole (looks like a small scratch). It took me a while to find one of these indeed

  8. Ibanez black eagle 1977 Rare original Ibanez black eagle from the '70s. These basses are mainly known for being used by Krist Novoselic from Nirvana. It's truly a great take on the classic jazz bass. Not only because it's looks (which is a matter of taste of course), but soundwise it delivers a bit more mids than most jazzes do. Probably because of the mahogany body. I've used this bass live with La Bella flats fitted as an all rounder for my former pop/rock band, and used this with both pickups engaged or one of them solood, it sounds solid in all settings. Playability is very good; low action without rattling is possible. There is some fret wear, but is doesn't affect playability. The bass is in very good condition considering it's age. All hardware and electronics work like they should. There is a repaired little crack at the F hole (which most have, if still complete), and otherwise just a bunch of small usermarks and scratches. It's a 5kg heavy piece of awesomeness, so might not be for everyone. I personally think it balances nicely with a decent strap, and didn't mind playing it for an hour or two. For the sale a set of rounds will be fitted, as I'll keep the flats. €1.450 I am located in the Netherlands, but happy to ship at buyers risk and expense. Tradewise I might be interested in; stingray with lacquered neck (like early 90s), Music Man Sabre, Fender Flea active, Modulus... electric guitar (Fender strat or jazzmaster per example)... Otherwise, surprise me..
  9. Often the sellers in that kind of shows know exactly what they have and what it went for on ebay or other auctions. Why bother to bring it in to a low-ball shop instead of offering it for auction themselves? I don't get that in the first place, but probably it's all a made up situation to make the show kind of interesting. The bass looks like it could be a nice one.
  10. Trades or partial trades are welcome too. I am looking for a Musicman Sabre or stingray (lacquered neck preferred) or 5 string with slightly tighter stringspacing (like Ibanez atk), passive shortscale like mustang bass, or maybe a decent electric guitar.
  11. Buying a "MusicMan" for £50... That's already the answer to the question I guess Besides that there are indeed many aspects different from a real one.
  12. As there is quite some variations of styles it's really hard to choose. Ballad-wise I go with soul to squeeze. For the good old funk I think backwoods is my all time favorite. Should I only choose one; backwoods... Or maybe show me your soul or soul to squeeze. Maybe we should make this easier and choose one of each album/era 😉
  13. I have a spare set of original Fender Jazz Bass grey bottom pickups from 1966. They origin from a bass that had pots dating back to March 1966. The pickups come from the same bass and have been a set since the instrument left the factory. These pickups sound great. I've had them installed in a assembled '60s jazz until recently. They have the great warm jazz bass sound, but sound great when solood too (nice snarly bridge pickup). The leads are still the originals with original length. Asking €1.250 for the set. I am located in the Netherlands, but happy to ship at buyers risk and expense. Ps: the original loaded control plate 100% original) that these pickups originally have been connected too, is also available
  14. Nice one! "ES" is indeed said to mean entered special. But apparently it meant that these instruments were meant to be used for displays and demonstration. I've mainly seen sunburst with this marking, which means it's not a custom color thing. I've owned a '66 P, and it's genuinely the most characterfull P I've played so far. Glwts
  15. Rarely offered! Original sunburst body that belonged to a bass that had the pots dated to week 4 of 1966. So it's either from early '66 or late '65. The body has a lot of scratches, small damages and some bigger bumps and dents. The finish has gotten textured (maybe due to chemical reaction from being stored away for a long time?), and also has fine checking. There is an original tortoise pickguard included. This guard still has the mint green layer on the back, so should be '65 at its latest as they were phased out by then. The guard has a missing tip and another crack. Also the original shielding plates are included. Screws are included also, which are modern Fender aged replacements. Asking: €2.850 The body is located in the Netherlands. Pickup is preferred, but I am willing to ship at buyers risk. I've got a few more pictures which I could send through PM or email if interested. They were too big to upload in the ad . Please do hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. PS: I also have other '65/'66 parts, like lollipop tuners, a loaded control plate and grey bottom pickups. The parts origin from 2 different basses that were finished in early '66.
  16. Rarely offered: Original Fender Jazz Bass neck, made in July 1965. The neck has a padouk fretboard, as Fender did only for a few months in 1965. This neck has been refretted with vintage style frets, and there is some chipping around the slots from defretting. The neck is straight, adjustable, and allows a decent low action. It has a comfortable feeling as some of the finish of the back has worn away. Originally this neck was mounted on a bass that had been finished in early 1966. I have the original (lollipop) tuners for sale separately. Asking €2500 I am located in the Netherlands. Pickup is preferred, but I could ship at buyers risk and expense. I might be interested in trade offers; basses, guitars...

  18. Cool Jose. Please note that shipping will be quite expensive, and import fees will need to be paid. Feel free to pm me if interested.
  19. Maybe they kinda look the same, but the modern replica might be a more solid material. When looking at the above pic, it would be remarkable if Fender really delivered a bass with that unsuitable quality saddles.
