Been looking on-off for a reasonably priced Starfire for a while. Unfortunately this one's a 'bit' out of my budget! Bought & sold a fair amount myself on here with no real issues. Only been messed about twice in four years of using the BC Marketplace - no complaints. I've been messed around much more on Ebay! Very occaisionally get the odd question from a buyer, that I think is a bit daft, but try my best to answer it - no problem. I do accept it is a buyer's market, & sometimes people are new to the world of bass, & some people are less anoraks than others. The other thing, is that there are no seller fees for shifting anything on here like Ebay. Lastly, from the various deals I've done (bought & sold) I've made acquaintances with some sound people.

Very nice. Looking forward to seeing this when complete. Shame you're after chrome, got some gold Ibanez humbuckers going cheap, that would have looked nice on it. Good luck with the build.
That bass rings some bells - I think it's been up before. Same as the copy about CM!.
Yeah it's been regularly appearing on Ebay for the last year or so, quite local to me. Must be waiting for that lucky buyer! -
Nice one, i went for the maple neck on the Ryder body-was a nice fit too. I've set mine up now and its playing realy nice - good action and intonation, reminiscent of a lovley MIJ i once owned. Can't bring myself to relic now - change of heart, prob for the best. So far £60 on the Ryder, £20 on US Pick Ups (ebay), £104 on the Mighty mite neck (totally love this neck), £5 on larger ferrules for string thru option, £17 on the vintage CTS pots P wiring/PIO cap and £10 on an ashtray which i've left off. Total £216 ....Really beginning to like this bass lots too. Here's the bass now:
That's lovely, like it! Here's mine - very happy with how it turned out.

Been on the cards for the last couple of years. Last I heard was that the company making the film was after further financial backing to finish it.
.... The main difference is that one of the first questions I ask about a new gig venue these days is "It's not an upstairs room is it?"
Yeah, thats me too. Hit 42 about a month ago. I can have the best of both follicle worlds; balding & grey! However, been shaving my head down to a zero for last twenty years, so most people haven't a clue. Personally OK with getting old. Despite having bit less stamina, bad recovery rate & sometimes feeling a bit achey - I'm at least not making the same stupid, sometimes painful mistakes that I used to do.
I'm building a P at the mo. Got some US pick ups last week on the bay for £25 and got a brand new vintage maple All parts neck off a guy privately for £104 with 60's decal (awaiting arrival) - he has more for sale!!!. I'm using my sonic blue Sue Ryder P body & bridge with P bridge ash tray. Also using a tort pickguard i picked up here for a £10. My aim is to make some thing like this 60's P: I'd like to relic next
Doing exactly the same myself to my sonic blue Sue Ryder bass. Swapped out the pickup for a Wizard Trad that I found cheap. Also, changed the pots, added a PIO tone cap & fitted a nice cream pearloid scratchplate. Was happy with the neck from a playing point of view, but it doesn't like the high tension La Bellas i use. So as I've gone this far modding it, I've decided to put a R/W Mighty Mite, nitro'd with a '63 logo, on it. Also £104 - probably from the same guy. Hopefully will turn out to be good P-Bass, when its all done. Not sure about relic'ing it though!

*SOLD - PENDING PAYMENT* Selling this as I have no real use for it - I never stray too far away from my amp! Its in good condition, works fine, never had any issues or problems with it & sounds OK. Here's some blurp on it, which I've lifted from another website: The Samson Airline AP1B UHF Bass Guitar System eliminates body packs with a tiny micro transmitter that plugs right into the bass guitar. The Samson Airline AP1B system’s receiver is designed to easily integrate into an effect pedal setup and features a shape circuitry yielding a fat bottom end and fullness never before heard in a wireless system for bass. The revolutionary AirLine "plug-in" AG1 transmitter comes is designed for traditional end-mount inputs. Less than half the size of conventional body packs, this miniaturized transmitter runs on a tiny triple-A battery with 14-hours of battery life. It features an array of on-board controls: A Power On/Off and Mute switch, red/green LED for Power On/Off, a Peak LED and an Input Level control for different pickups. And UHF (Ultra High Frequency) means clearer frequencies with less interference. Designed for use with your compact effect pedals, the APB1 pedal receiver gives you reception you can always depend on. It features a 1/4" output jack, Power switch, Peak LED and a Volume control. You can use a 9 volt battery or an AC adapter to power the receiver. When you unplug your the unit, the battery is disabled to conserve power.
look what i picked up yesterday, complete with the most evil bridge man has ever made cimar jazz bass 1908ash model.
Nice score. I had a 1908 too, up until a short while ago. They're nice jazz basses. Swapped the bridge on mine out for one of those no-name high mass ones & changed the pickups for some cheap Seymour Duncan designed JB-1's from a Squier VMJ, which were an improvement. Have a love/hate thing for jazz basses, so sold it to a German guy for a good price, though wish I still had it sometimes - it was a cracking bass!
