2. *SOLD - Pending Payment* Trace Elliot 'V-Series' 1248H (4x12) Cab F/S or F/T Think made in '97. 4 x 12" Celestions (800w / 8ohms) & a HF tweeter, which can be controlled via attenuator - though I personally turn it off. Great tone, phenomenal..... Loud, articulate & punchy - this fills the room. A classic old school cab! I love this cab, but no longer need it as I'm pretty much using 1x15" these days. I need some space, hence its up for sale. It's also fitted with castors, which make it easy to wheel to around & the cab itself is in good condition. Cab is pictured below (underneath V-Type) . However will post a better picture, when I drag it out from the understairs cupboard, in next few days. Would like £200 collected/delivered locally, or £250 Delivered nationwide. Also open to trades (WHY) Could be interested in trades, though I can't think of anything I'm currently GASing for off top my head but never know.... Please PM me if interested or for further info. Thanks
3.
You're a brave man Oli.........
Looking forward to seeing this Oli, liking the shape. Good luck!
4. A lot of 70's porno music. Pornosonic, Gert Wilden, Sex-O-Rama.....
5. I've got a sunburst Kimbara Jazz copy. It's a good bass, nice player - deep profile 70's style neck, which I like on a jazz. The pickups & pots were crap, but had them rewound by Wizard, & rewired it with CTS pots.
6. Used a few housebricks on the rare occaisions I've needed to isolate a cab.
7.
I've got a Trad P pickup coming soon that I'm looking forward to trying out. The previous incarnation of the bass had an SD SPB-1 in it that I really liked. But I thought I'd give Wizard a try out of curiosity. I'm expecting the Trad to be fairly similar to the SPB-1 as both are descibed as pretty much "vintage correct".
Would be interested to hear what you think of them both. I mainly use SPB-1s in my P-Basses, but I've got a Wizard 'Trad' in one. Think they do sound different to each other. However, would say they are both have a 'vintage' tone of some kind - certainly not modern. I like them both, cant decide which one I prefer. Cheers
8. GHS 'White Bronze' Electro-Acoustic Strings (.012 .016 WB.24 WB.32 WB.42 WB.54) "Wound with Alloy 52™ these strings are magnetically active which makes them ideal for acoustic/electric applications. The material also resists corrosion to help players with high acidity and those that live in humid climates. This non-tarnishing material delivers an extra brilliant sound with a very long tone life." Brand new, unopened pack. £4-50 inc. P&P Please PM me if interested. Thanks
9. *SOLD* Danelectro 'French Toast' An octave up fuzz, based on the 'Foxx Tone Machine' - great on bass, as well as guitar. In good condition, with original box & manual. £20 inc. P&P Please PM me if interested or for more info etc... Thanks
10. *SOLD* pending payment etc..... 1x15" ported Cab Picked this up a short while ago, just to use at rehearsals. No idea on make of driver in it, but it sounds OK. Its a bit tatty looking, as can be seen in the photo, the front has been adorned in Elvis cuttings by previous owner! However, structurally its pretty solid, no issues. Would have kept it myself, probably cover it with tolex & upgrade with a better driver etc...but just acquired a 'Loud Inc.' 1x15", and with another Trace 1x15" and a 4x12 - I've got no space! Hence this going.... Could be used as is, or I think be the basis for quite a nice (lightweight) cab project. Dimensions are 25.5"x23"x13.5" & with one tubed port. Pretty light in weight, guessing about 20kg - lighter than my Trace 1153. £25 pickup from Bristol. Sorry no posting/couriers. Please PM me if interested. Thanks
11. Guess I'm not unhappy with my rig..... Using a Trace V-Type 300H with a couple of Harma Telefunken ECC803S clones in the preamp, going into a 'Loud Inc.' 1x15 cab that I recently picked up cheap on BC. Articulate & punchy, clear transparent tone to my ears & more than enough volume. At present, it's OK for me
12.
......I'm certainly interested in this bass but to be honest I'm a bit nervous about buying from a stranger (with all due respect). I usually buy from ebay because of the buyer protection, so this feels somewhat like a gamble to me. I hope you understand.
See Will's seller feedback, he's definitely kosher! Have a bump - coolest looking bass I've seen in a long time. This is my favourite bass in F/S section - I keep coming back to look (drool) at it. Can't justify another bass at the moment.... somebody please buy it & put me out of my misery!
13. These are a great (proper) ska band, with an excellent drummer, doing cracking gigs!
14. Tony Franklin often plays fretless with a pick too.
15. For me, it's a toss-up between Justin Meldal-Johnsen or Bobby Vega.
16.
I generally hate medleys... they just scream Jive Bunny. They cheapen the song, IMO.
Think the same for the same reason, remind me of Jive Bunny too. As much as I loathe them (particularly Motown medleys), still done them in some bands (against my will), as I guess they do at least keep the punters on the dancefloor.
17. Have a bump.... I've also got a sonic blue Ryder hybrid with a Mighty Mite R/W neck. If its the same as mine, it will be a cracking P-Bass & way better than a Squier sonic blue CV IMHO. You shouldn't have a problem shifting it at that price , bargain!
18.
i'll take it! just need to arrange a lift to collect it!
Apologies - gone to Bunjy!
19.
Has anyone else had an change of direction with their musical tastes / playing styles?
Constantly.... Though not necessarily changing direction, more taking to, adding different styles & tastes. Guess its part of keeping an open mind musically, which can only be good.
20.
Find some lead solder. Not lead solder is all round rubbish.
Was going to say the same.... with a 25w iron is more than adequate.
21. *GONE* Clearing out my garage, finding all sorts! Used it before myself, & it sounded alright. Think it was a Laney combo in a previous life, but was chopped to make a cab. Maybe of use to someone(?) If anybody wants it, please give me a shout. Thanks
22.
I'd be very interested in your review (considering I just bought a new TC classic 450 and it was a toss up between it and the Ibanez).
Me too... would be grateful to hear opinions, as I'm looking at getting either a TC Classic or a Promethean(?) Thanks
Doss Performer This is for our lead guitarist. It doesn't do anything, just the red LED flashes randomly for a bit when someone stomps on it. He seems to like it though.
Brilliant! I like it.
