  1. That's quite uncanny Douglas, spot on for dear old Bob! Just how I imagined, except without a pop filter ;~
  2. That sounds like a punk/prog crossover, Pronk, anyone?
  3. Ok, how about up to £50?
  4. It's hard to tell from the website as some fields are clearly not updated, probably best to email them.
  5. I've got the old Status flats on an already bright bass and they are quite bright for flats. I understand they have a new supplier now but haven't tried their current offerings, and hopefully won't need to for another 10 years or so.
  6. I'd like to hear you read it yourself, I imagine your spoken voice to be like Robert Wyatt, due to your avatar
  7. Quite a creative chap, kudos!
  8. Ha!, that honestly never occurred to me. I must be feeling slow this month.
  9. Ok, I'm in too: https://soundcloud.com/julian-moss-511168525/nothing-basschat-dub-mix
  10. Quick and dirty! I can't listen to it at work but looking forward to it!
  11. Yeah, what he said ^ With my stuff and also the band, the takes aren't usually good enough to warrant really working on perfection, and they hate doing a tune more than twice unless it has to stop cos someone dropped a total Pollock. This week, that was me, on several occasions!
  12. Ha! I've never spent 10 hours on any of my entries, even when I've had to play everything myself! You can tell just by listening to my tunes, I treat it as an exercise in getting something down, then NOT going back to it to fiddle and fix. Anyway, I'm away next week until closing, so it's this or nowt. I recorded bass and backing vocals today and mixed it, so you could say I've "produced" it this month
  13. I've been working on something we recorded this week. It's a tune we've had knocking around for a while but has had a total re-imagining and arrangement, and has a space theme. Not sure if it entirely fits the entry requirements. Shall I put it up?
  14. My cheapo Sony ones are on their last legs. They were a tad harsh in the top end, but more comfortable for me than my last Sennheiser CX something that I lost. Any recommendations? Looking for flat (within reason) rather than big hyped bass. Cheers MBA
  15. If there's room on the electronics cover you could locate a Strat style socket on the back. I'm pretty sure that would be out of the way of your playing style. I think I've seen this solution on a Ritter, if it's good enough for him....
  16. Yeah, I think they offered these in 2 different body thicknesses, my 12 string is thin, light and a joy to wear and play.
  17. Hi All Playing at the Library tonight (Sunday 26th) on Cowley Rd , Oxford My usual band, Charms Against the Evil Eye, is acting as Anton's band again, and he has decided we should be called " Thrust ". Cheers for that Anton. We will be on about 10, with support from Ghoul, and someone else whose name escapes me. I think I was told the entry is contribution based, but we won't be giving refunds at the end!
  18. I would add these sound pretty good with guitar too. Glwts I still haven't got round to trying the cap mod on mine yet, glad this thread reminded me, cheers!
  19. I don't think so, exactly, the send is after the preamp, return is input to power amp, so, yes, if you only input into the return, you don't use the preamp at all, but the power amp will be expecting line level input, which a preamp pedal should provide. Send return loop is for running effects at line level, meant to produce less (unwanted!) noise from effects.
  20. Have you tried the old patch lead in the send return loop trick?
  21. My band is acting as backing group for a singer-songwriter, and he has called us Thrust. Wouldn't have been my first choice, tbh!. Did wonder about sponsorship when I saw these amps though. I would have preferred National Thrust, but that got pooh-poohed
  22. May just be worth taking all the valves out and putting them in again. Worked well for my friend's brand new Ac30
  23. Would Warwick wax mixed with elbow grease clean that up?
  24. Here's an idea for the pick guard. Make up a clear one, then slip a cut out of coloured paper under it. Then you can try as many colour variations, or prints, or designs as you like.
  25. I use the R24 (same thing) standalone. You can do it all in the unit, you just need to get used to doing it. They have changed the way the drum programming works, and it's less easy to use than the older MRS series Zooms. Same applies to track editing on board. They removed a lot of functions. One upside is it now records in wav form so you don't need to use a propriety converter for anything else to read the files to convert to mp3 for easy sharing. The concept of the Rxx series really is to be integrated with a DAW, but there is enough functionality to mix on the unit. All my composition challenge entries have been done inside the unit, and band demos too. It can be battery powered too, so that fulfils the portable criterion.
