1. Never had any problems on IE. Before today! Strange.
2. I've got one of these - I wish I'd been able to get it for this price. This is a GOOD deal! If it comes with the Godin gigbag too they're great!
3.

Score a Guild B301 with SLF. And I'm not getting this offering from the Au Pairs as punk
4. Saw a Shergold earlier. I also understand now why I had to get a Les Paul Special double-cut. Everyone had one then! Subliminal at the time, but when you see them all together at once.....
5.
What was funny? The name or the fact that there's a website for bass players?
That was partly my point - I think he found it funny that someone mundane enough to play the bass could possibly want or need a dedicated website. We really are held in that kind of low regard by some!
6. I was talking to a Photographer at our gig last night and happened to mention that there was a website for bass players called BassChat, and he thought it was the funniest thing he'd ever heard! He might have been thinking along the lines of Priest Chat off Father Ted, which WAS funny. Even our drummer chipped in, saying it should be called Bass Spod! Is this the regard in which we (collectively) are held? On the upside, he did send me an arty pic of me playing.
7.
D'Addario Chromes - sound like round wound, feel line flatwound. I use them on fretted and fretless basses and personally wouldn't use anything else. Just my preference, of course.
In my experience, Chromes sound nothing like round wound strings. They do feel nice though.
8. hmm, not really any the wiser for that, but thanks anyhow!
9. how does the toggle switch work with 3 pickups? Just curious like.
10. We used to use AA Platers in Watford. Don't know if they're still there. I think they were west Watford/Greycaine est. area.
11. Have a look at this site: http://shop.41hz.com/shop/ They do some tiny class d amps some of which run happily off 12 V. Been thinking about this myself for a while. Still need a preamp though. What about the ElectroHarmonix class d jobbies, 22 calibre of 44 magnum? All quite efficient so should have a good battery life if you can get enough volts going in.
12. That's an awesome piece of wood on that Thumb - type bump
13. Thanks Bill, I'd read this before, but forgotten it almost straight away!
14. I'm just curious. I have a Shuttle 6, so should be plenty of power available, and neither of my (3-piece) bands is particularly noisy. If I could get away with something as small as a Midget, I would, even though the Compact isn't exactly huge. Your thoughts, as always, welcomed. Cheers Jules
15. As a Pearl Jam "neutral" I watched the first 15 minutes and found it really dull and not engaging, poorly shot and edited. I didn't stick with it, which is most unlike me.

17. They pay the elephants peanuts!
18. Considering the slant of this thread it may be GILF....
19. Great rehearsal = bad gig.
20. I can't remember, but here's some for you anyhow. Just sold a Genz Shuttle footswitch to Gordon, A pleasure to deal with and super prompt payment too! Cheers Jules
21. I don't think having a toggle will make any difference to the cancellation thing.
22. Don't wear boxers Adolph.
23.
Pink jazzes look fantastic, especially with brown tortie 'plates. I'm 6ft 1 and ugly as sin but would be delighted to gig at the legendary Dog and Duck every Saturday night with this (my old Yamaha quells any trouble it really would hammer nails in ). Bump for a truly wonderful instrument.
Would that make it a Yamahamma?
24. Ha! post up some clips on here and get a thousand honest opinions!
25.
Maybe I just have lazy technique but I hate not been able to use open strings, if you can't use open strings you're physically limited I find. Take the F# example, just half a step down and all the open strings are available to you.
S'funny, I don't really like playing open strings. It makes muting a special case, slightly different to how you do it on non-open strings.
