  5. they are a great string, they dont keep the growl for as long as the spiros but they are really good, check out the talkbass.com threads....theres a new version called weich which seem to have more of the spiro flavor....they sound like a good bet....not seen them in the uk yet but they are out in the US...cant decide to go for the new wiechs or the new solos! ....spoilt for choice! as i say you are welcome to pop over from the bbc to try them anytime....just bring one of your nice english basses ;-) ....oh and that fender jazz ;-) cheers Geoff
  6. im a student at the RNCM who also plays a lot of jazz and i love the Evahs, really amazing string. Tom Martin uses them for classical and whilst i do miss the spiro wichs i love the ease of bowing....give them a try! if you want to have a play you are welcome to try my bass, cheers Geoff
  7. hey adam, great to hear your tune mate, did you write it? Your playings really come on since i heard you last, i really liked it :-) bass sounds great too, lets see some pics of it! nice one Adam, cheers Geoff

  14. once you have played a DB750 theres no where else to go! sell the rest and leave that under the bed!.......and i guess you better try to squeeze in that sadowsky if it fits....aggie/sadowsy mmmmmm...... sell the swr cabs!
  15. hey stu, im really sorry to hear about the way things are going mate...i know how much both these instruments ment to you and your bro and im really sad that you have to let them go.... i always thought it was cool that you let Chris take the fretted out to road shows etc...its a great bass and ive enjoyed the couple of times i got to have a bash.... Good luck mate, Cheers Geoff
  16. hey Marcus, i really hope your ok, thats an amazing rig! im using sadowsky and a db750 and its such a good match.....Put them all in the attic for a few weeks and see how you feel :-) Good luck mate Geoff

  18. scotts a wicked player and a serious teacher if anyone wants some quality lessons....
  19. there are sooo many new lightweight cabs around at the moment! its really confusing knowing which way to go.....i think that schroeder are leading the way though.......
  20. i cant belive its only 119lb's ....still a bit heavy for me but if Ampeg made the same combination it would be insane....... oh and can you imagine what the rest of the band would say when you turned up at a pub gig and rolled in that bad boy!
  21. i had a 21012 that sounded amazing with a solid state head but when i bought a DB750 the bottom end became too much...I am considering buying a couple of 115L+ 's but am a bit nervous about the quality issues that come from buying from such a small set up...also heard a lot of stories about stuff not being quite right......might go for the brand and buy an SWR golight 410 instead....decisions..decisions.... However the 21012 was a terrific cab and i bet it would sound amazing with the mark bass heads...............
  22. Glad to hear the bergs are working out :-) im really tempted to go for an AE410 with my DB750 but might have to go for the SWR golight 4x10 which is only £759 at the bass gallery...saying that, if the AE series is really that good! must not spend money, must not spend! :-)
  23. roons a top bloke/player......... 100%
