2. hey guys, i took it to the gallery who did a great job on the repair, it still need a bit more work but i should be collecting the finished bass next week, fingers crossed but martins been fantastic.......will post some pics
3. would also be worth having a lesson with a really good teacher. If you are new to the bass im sure they could give you some usful advice on your hand problem, and its gonna be great for all other aspects of your playing. Good luck, Geoff
4. where are you based?
5. just checked out ged greens site and he looks really good so i think i might give him a try.....i hate the hassle of posting basses to the gallery it would be cool to use someone up north...
6. thanks lozbass, i got a reply from George (fbass), great service as always who thinks its a repair job so im going to send it to the Gallery.....As the trus rod adjust at the bass body should be possible....will keep you all updated! cheers Geoff
7. needless to say i feel like a right tit! I shut and locked the boot but im guessing that it didnt catch when i closed it... unreal...
8.
First, I'm really sorry to hear about this - we all take precautions but sometimes things like this just happen. I hope there's a happy outcome in terms of repair. I use Ged Green in Manchester - he's extremely good and very experienced with respsect to neck breaks and may be able to help. I can see that you're getting good offers. I have a couple of basses (decent stuff) that I won't be using over the next month or two and would be happy to offer a loan. PM if you're interested.
thanks for that, ive managed to sort out a bass, also emailed george, im off to take it to my luthier in leeds to get it looked at......what a bummer!
9. hey guys thanks for all the offers of help, its great that theres so many people who are supportive. it looks like i might have sorted a back up bass to get me through dec... Im going to email george and see what he suggests.........fingers crossed!
10. bag held up well, theres a few tyre tracks on it! the rest of the bass has only minor markings on it, its already pretty beat up, im keeping an eye out for hairline cracks.... George has been really cool in the past when i bought a preamp so i will see what he suggests.......
11. yeh this is one of the only times its been in the boot but i was parked next to a wall so i couldnt get it in the passenger side.....you live and learn! im not sure about getting it fixed as the split is kinda down the finger board, but at least its not splintered..... the whole thing is really odd!
12. As i was driving home today my boot came open, the bass fell out the car on the motorway and was runover many times in its case (overwater soft case). I had been driving for over an hour so it was a bit of a shock! luckly no one was hurt, except the bass.... Its a real nightmare, im a freelance bassist and this is my only instrument! I think i know someone who can lend me a bass to help over the christmas period but its a real blow, i really loved that bass, best ive ever owned. I think an email to fbass to find out how much a new neck would be is the best way forward as the rest of the bass is ok.... It was really dangerous though and im lucky i didnt cause an accident...
13. ive played this and its a great bass....cheers geoff

20. its a really great head, nice having the 2 channels, gives you loads of options.........
21. Hi guys, ive got 2 amp heads so need to let one go. Im selling this head from an eden metro combo which has had a custom case built as its a bit too wide to fit in a normal rack. The head was sold off by eden and came straight from the factory and has never been in a combo. It took me ages to get the case built and ive bearly used it. heres the spec from the eden site (for the combo) The new DC210XLT is the answer to requests for our highly acclaimed World Tour and David Series in a combo format. Our goal in designing the Metro was to create a self-contained unit that sacrificed none of the performance of our separates. The Metro’s dual channel preamplifier section gives you the choice of a tube or solid state preamp, with full footswitch control. Each channel includes an independent effects loop, with 500 watts into 4 Ohms (over 750 watts into 2 Ohms). The Metro truly outclasses any 210 combo on the market today. Standard features include, switchable automatic compression, 5-way semiparametric tone control and electronic crossover, independent channel effects loops, stereo aux input, headphone out, tuner mute on footswitch, internal speaker on/off, and -12dB pad. Footswitch and casters are included. $2,059.90 (on the back of my head it says 600watts into 2ohms, but im sure this is the same model).........its really loud anyway! Im asking £220 for the head (no trades) if you can come and collect it from leeds. This is a really great head in fantastic condition..... cheers Geoff
