1.
I had a Delta 600 head. Good solid (heavy!)build, reliable bit of kit. Was a bit 'middly' IIRC,but okay. Sold it on here for a song.....
i think that was me.....i had it serviced and its working great, im using a newer head most of the time but its great to have it it about.....
2. yeh the twin channel blue fronted stuff......will take so pics when i have some time.
3. ive got a 600 head which i dont use....might consider a sale if you send me a pm ;-) these are amazing heads though, the guys at overwater did a great job, back in the day they were eden stockist and the delta stuff was suppposed to sound better.....i love mine and keep it as a back up........
4.
Sounds like a fun test! Im shocked that I could basically not even get an AE112 for the price of this cab!...
thats becuase this is a SERIOUS BARGAIN!.....its mint.......castors......loud..berg........berg...........berg............etc.........
5. my advice would be to try the berg 12 at bass direct, if you are really intrested then you have to try em out first as they are so different to your db's.....but sjonnies idea of getting one and then using the db212 when its called for is spot on, i cant see any advantage in having 2 unless you really prefer the sound...
6. i do think that people seem be getting quite aggressive recently on a number of threads, shame that we cant all get along :-)
7. hey guys, just had funkymunky over to A/B this cab with his AE410....both sounded amazing, the ae was a bit more present and aggressive, hs sounded a bit more old school, whilst still sounding like a modern 410...it was great to catch up with steve and I was really impressed with how good these berg cabs are....... cheers geoff oh also discovered the castors pop in and out... :-)
8. great choice of cab, really cool colour and 412 is gonna sound MASSIVE....i recon one of those cabs would be enough for me :-)
9. to be fair ive had problem drivers in other new cabs, it happens, but i dont see as much of a problem with other companys.. ASAIK ;-)
10. i never met him but was doing some of the same gigs in leeds for a while, we did a few deps for each other and he seemed like a good guy, always heard good things about his playing.........
11. sorry to side track but what does AFAIK mean?
12. its 85lbs, i used it again last night and it was really easy, i got it up a short flight of stairs on my own no probs...but i wouldnt want to lift it onto a high stage etc...thats where band mates come in handy ;-) The castors are really well made which helps......
13. yeh ive just replied to a pm about paypal and im happy to use it but i would need the fees paying...it would be cheaper to buy with cash...I used the cab again on a funk gig tonight and im really loving the tone with my DB750, really thick....i hope i dont regret selling this, £600 is a real bargin for a cab in this condition...
14. i think that there are some gigs that a 1 12 will do, jazz jam sessions, gigs without drummers, quiet rehearsals etc.. but if u would be using 2 then i would just use your db212....of course if you just want one then that makes sense but if you use 2 together then the benifit of size is kinda equaled out by your 212 being on wheels (unless there are serious stairs and you are on your own).....i used to own a gs112 and i really didnt use alone on anything other than jazz gigs...... saying that im replacing my hs410 with 2 EA wizzys. Im getting a normal one imported to add to my mline 12 which i use for upright. by using 2 with my db750 i can get the tone i want but if i played electric only i would stick with the hs410 and buy a small cheap 112 cab for suitable small gigs/practice.... Good luck....hope aggies are going well, i bet they sound amazing! :-)
15. wow you dont see many of these... i bet it sounds massive
16. yeh the 21012 i owned was a great sounding cab, i think if you go via shx you should have a good experience with decent customer service....but im still not 100% convinced though, will be intresting to see how the next few months go.......
17. yeh i would be all over this if it sounded similar to my db750 but in a smaller package.....amp of dreams!
18. sounds like a good plan ;-) seriously though if i didnt also play double bass (cant fit em both in my car) i would keep this for big gigs. it was fantastic last night.......my 2x12s are going to be a bit of a let down now ;-)
19. im just back from another gig with this cab, it really is amazing! ............
