  1. I haven’t read the Talkbass thread but it looks like strings with silks at the ball end may have issues here? Flat/tapewounds for example?
  2. I can definitely see myself using the DC4 as a desktop power supply connected to the Thunderbolt 3/USB-C port on my laptop! Hoping for a price in the sub-£100 region for that. The DC7 definitely won’t be cheap. Edit: the Eventide PowerMax looks to be a slightly modified version of the Cioks DC7. I was looking at both when I wanted to power my HX Stomp off a pedalboard friendly PSU.
  3. This looks great! I’m hungrily awaiting the release of the 5 string D-Bird Standard. There was a time when I hated the sunburst look but somehow Dingwall make their vintageburst look sooo good. To be fair, they don’t really know how to produce a bad looking finish IMO.
  4. @RnRDave, you may be a candidate for this thread...
  5. Following this - sounds very interesting!
  6. I tend to use the amp models themselves for overdrive/distortion. Need to investigate the dedicated distortion FX blocks further!
  7. A very good price for a very good cab!
  8. Check out Jon Willis on Facebook. Bit of a wizard when it comes to creating bass patches for Helix & Stomp. He has a group called “Doctor Tone’s Secret Helix Lab” where he shares his patch files. I downloaded and tested as many as I could last night. They’re great! I had to do some volume levelling to get them closer to the volume of my other patches - a lot of them had gain boosts on the main L/R output block!
  9. I’d go for a used BH250 over a BAM200.
  10. This pretty much hits the nail on the head. It’ll likely only be used by players in a tight spot and in need of an urgent string change. Can’t go far wrong with D’addario.
  11. I’ve said it before on similar threads but I’ll say it again... You will not find a better bass for this money! Excellent instruments.
  12. I can’t seem to see a price?
  13. Ooh yeah. The pearl on the black fretless looks tasty.
  14. I have to agree. Actually really like the fact the blue doesn’t spread across the middle.
  15. Those blenders are fantastic. So many options!
  16. Great price IMO. Not surprised it’s sold!
  17. Exactly! Potential for cool rig arrangements methinks
  18. Hm. Looking at the dimensions of the FC6 and the fact it seems to be of the same design language, the FM3 may be more compact than I thought. It seems feasible that FM3 has been designed to sit seamlessly beside an FC6. From the Fractal website: FC-6 Dimensions. 11.2″ x 9.2″ x 3.5″ (283mm x 233mm x 88mm). Weight: 6.7 lbs (3 kg).
  19. Ha! My VM5 is probably not far off that weight. Definitely not a light bass...but to be fair I actually am a unit. Coincidentally, the bass in question is also for sale
  20. Recently purchased a Future Impact pedal from Andy. Very easy to deal with, excellent communication and the pedal is in immaculate condition. Would happily do business with you again! Thanks Andy
  21. Is there any likelihood of Kemper releasing a compact floor-based unit? I’ve always looked at Kemper with a curious eye but the form factor is a barrier to entry for me. Aesthetically, this new Fractal FM3 reminds me of a hotrodded Headrush GigBoard. It looks to be built like an absolute tank - internal PSU is always nice to see. I suspect it’s quite a bit larger than may appear at first glance, maybe about 3/5 to 2/3 the size of a Helix Floor or equivalent?
  22. This is, very sadly, true.
  23. I think they may have nailed the form factor by steering away from the 12-footswitch-mothership-control-panel style layout of the competition. Good design IMO. Keeping plenty of nice I/O options and looks to be built like a tank too.
  24. Again...wow.
