It's in my sig RCF HD32a. They ain't cheap, but I got a good deal from Northwing of this parish. Saying that, even the brand new price isn't any more than you'd realistically pay for a good quality amp head and cab.

Fair enough. A keyboard amp of some sort may well be your solution then as they tend to have the inputs and controls at the top or front rather than the back.

I would be pretty confident in using my RCF as backline. I keep the level fairly low but it shakes the whole house as soon as I tickle the volume knob!

My immediate thinking is that a good PA speaker and a separate small mixer sitting in a convenient to reach location will be much more practical than an all-in-one speaker with all connections and controls hidden at the rear of the speaker cabinet. What’s your budget?

BassDirect don’t have that specific combo in stock but I’m sure they could get them in for you as they’re an Aguilar dealer.

I read a post over on TB last night which suggested they’ve been listening to the years of criticism from users and implemented a lot of huge changes. Fingers crossed, TonePrint sharing will be upon us as that’s one of the big gripes we’ve had for a long time. Also, from the sounds of it we will be able to see what patch is currently loaded on a pedal as there will be the ability to edit the TC-made prints (not artist signature ones though).

Sounds to me like your guitarist has good sense. I reckon you may both be pleasantly surprised with the results!

If the Aux went to the DI output then I could route my vocal looping rig through the Spectradrive and go straight from the single DI output to either my own monitor or a PA without needing a separate mixer. One less thing to lug around and set up. Would be particularly useful on the kind of actor-musician jobs I’ve done in the past where stage space can be very tight. I realise my usage scenario is very specific!

Thanks for the review, @Jimryan. Now that I’ve settled down after my little tantrum, I think I can just about live with the Aux signal going to 1/4” main output but not the XLR output, although in some situations it may mean having a secondary DI box post 1/4” out but oh well...

Someone like Bright Onion could custom build you a switcher with level controls/indicator LEDs etc in a compact enclosure for relatively little money. I have one: That said, the GigRig Three2One looks glorious!

The Aftershock is no joke! It can do almost anything you can think of, drive wise. Sometimes I wonder why I sold mine but then I realise it was because I preferred the simplicity of my OFD. Then I wonder why I sold my OFD...

When it comes to wireless headphones (or speakers etc) you almost always get what you pay for. That said, if you’re intending on playing bass through the headphones, wired will always win. -
