  1. Leo probably got a batch of them at a good price and used them everywhere until the box emptied. We eulogise various aspects of the Fender story, when the reality was that they were just making a product to a price point. Am I happy that my 66J has the special machine heads (and binding and dots)? Obviously, yes

Thanks, this is the stuff. I am there in a fortnight. My students are in no way shape or form ready to hit an open Jam stage. But to get them to visit something like this would superb. We live in rural North Wales. This stuff is like access to another world.
  3. I wholeheartedly endorse this line of thought.

Thanks This is the source of info I need!
  5. I find myself taking a bunch of students to Barcelona. My life is so hard. Can anyone suggest any live music venues or activities there? I will look at listings, but you might just know of a venue where the music is hot etc.
  6. Rocco Prestia also advocated the light touch and it does not get much more funky.
  7. To be fair, slap on a fretless with chorus on is not REAL slap
  8. I used mine tonight and last night. It is superb for DB. Slice off the mud and tame any top end harshness or shinyness. I know people like shinyness. I do not on a DB. But as Luke points out, so many more uses. Amd a decent DI to boot. .
  9. I have a 3 hour drive to do. This is what I need. Ta.
  10. I guessed you would not be able to stop yourself. You will probably need some new blades though.
  11. Now we are talking! I polished mine up from years of grime with Chrome polish and a buffing wheel on my drill. I realise this is unorthodox, but it brought it up lovely!
  12. What he said. Wires and magnets are just wires and magnets
  13. But thank you for thinking of me LeftyJ!
  14. Alternatively, we could just practice like Mateo
  15. I am sure I have seen him posting on cheesechat.co.uk
  16. I can see it would be all sorts of interesting. However, without a click track it will be a solo or recording instrument only. I used to have a Boss Slicer which created fabulous ideas. But was utterly unusable live without a click - which I did not have. Don't get me wrong, it looks very interesting indeed.
  17. I cannot deny, I was quite pleased with it And it is tragically accurate
  18. I am diary intolerant. It is why I never manage to get anything done.....
  19. My 73 P has an A neck as well. Proper lush.
  20. Truly shocking.
