Deep in my memory banks I actually knew that. However, it was pretty deep in there. Thanks for the tips. I also need to bring the bridge back from Bannana so will wet it, put it between two pieces of flat board and clamp it hard for a few weeks. I knew that Black and Decker workmate would come in handy eventually.

Somenone has donated this DB to the college I work in. Fair play to them. However this bit has come off. I know I should boil up some bones etc. That is not going to happen. What do I use? Someone (a 5 year old?) has tried something but that popped as soon as there was any tension. I would also welcome suggestions for clamping for someone who has no clamps.

There is probably an upgrade but I was ANGRY. Don't be coming at me with your reasonable thoughts It is not all bad, I have NAM sitting waiting for me. And that is probably better.

Staying "in house" with Logic makes a lot of sense. And I am sure that, for my purposes, the plugins are more than ample. I have messed with the Logic guitar amps but the Waves one just seemed to make eveything soung nice without me trying. And that is my favourite thing.

You will need an interface to get your bass audio in there. A pickup is less ffaff than a mic. Audio interfaces are cheap on FB marketplace. You will need to have some sort of syncing noise/visual so you can glue audio and video together in iMovie You will need to spend 3 or 4 hours on a "teach yourself Garage Band" YT series. It is far from rocket science, but if you just pile in and hope for the magic after 10 minutes you are destined for Dissapoinment Central.

<sigh> I am migrating to a new Mac Mini M4. I have just tried to put my paid for, Olde Worlde Waves plugins on to it. Waves is asking me to load Rosetta or spend more money on new stuff. Waves can take a running jump. It is really frustrating. The guitar amp just worked for what I wanted. I whacked it on and got on with whatever else I was doing. I know I can go to NAM or any number of other things, but ...............grrrrrrrrr.........

This makes me feel better about my excess kit.

I went to a 6 with low F# from a 5. It is a practice/familiarity thing. It takes time and I still revert to "type" on occasion and get it wrong. Familiarity will breed content(ment).

I totally get the attraction of being a one bass bloke. I shall never achieve it.

I have a friend looking for one. He is talking of buying. I suggested hiring. Any leads? TIA
