2. I used to have one of these. After the refined gentleness of Edens, SWR and Markbass, it was a wild animal waiting to be tamed. I tamed it and it was a thing of wonder. 200W of pure valve provides more power than most of us will ever need. Even with a full band I never used it up high, but it was good to know I had a big reserve in hand. Fabulous amp. Good luck with the sale

5. Which one please ? Old version - knobs at the back, input/output jacks or Newer version - knobs on front face, input, output, tuner, XLR
6. Bought a Polytune tuner form James. Well packaged and swiftly delivered. A great guy to deal with.
7.
That seems like a great price for this as it must be quality. Looks in very good order too. Good luck, LC
Wow . This looks a quality piece, Unlike many Rick copies, this really does look like the real thing...............and at a quarter of the price. Good luck
8. Bought an interesting instrument from flat eric. It was an easy going and absolutely straightforward transaction. Eric is a nice guy and we had a pleasant hour sharing common experiences. His researches into the world of Peter Cook are a fascinating contribution to the historical record of bass history. I would thoroughly recommend Eric on both counts. Thanks again !
9.
Why not just PM? saves us all looking to see if it's still for sale
........but well worth reviving this thread for the hell of it !!........cheered me up no end, this last day of the holiday .
10. Wonderful basses both in terms of both playability and tone. Good luck
11. It'll be off to the bay.....well not just yet as I've had several offers of trades. A nice bass would be tempting, but cash would secure it.
12. David was a great guy to deal with : clear, upfront and considerate. Bought an MBX cab which was packed with care and arrived very quickly. Very much appreciated.
13. Thanks Nick, Errrm, ... showing my total ignorance of Fender neck widths I had to look this up. B is 1 5/8th inches at the nut Im told
14.
Would you split?
The whole thing is a bonzer rig together, but I guess if I had firm sales on both items......
15.
Hi there. Nice gear! Can you tell me... 1. Still available? 2. Power rating? 3. Interested in any Trace Elliot gear for trade? I have an early 90s pre-Gibson collection of TE gear in great condition. An AH200 Series 6 GP12 (very loud), two 1153 15" slimline cabs at 300W each, one 2103x slimline cab (2x10 plus 2x5), also 300W. Oh, and a dual SMX compressor pedal. Cheers, BB
Hi BB 1. Yes, still available, no firm takers as yet. 2. 300w I believe but Phil Jones (yes he himself) told me he's very conservative about power ratings. Personally I've heard this rig combination with a 7 piece band, brass section, full kit drummer, full PA etc - it was loud and as clear as a bell. 3. Love the idea...... if only i were younger, but Im downsizing rather than upsizing Im afraid. Thanks
16. Hi Nick, Wondering if this could be a natural match for my 1975 which seems to have a jazz type rosewood neck What is the width at the nut please ? Is it a A,B,C neck ?
17. PJB suitcase and cab in excellent condition. Present gigs only need a microcombo, so this bigger rig never gets an outing. It's been sat in my bedroom and badly underused except for a bit of personal practice. No buyers in April so Ive decided to let it go bargain basement if cash and collected For those who dont know Phil Jones gear, it is superbly built, very high end, and expensive. As well as looking classy, this rig is versatile, portable and articulate : - The two cabs fit easily in the boot/back of a car. - The amp has two independent channels, each with its own separate graphic EQ. This means you can set up two basses on stage, adjusting each to taste before the gig. Useful if you need both fretted and fretless basses, or a passive and or a 4 and a 5-string. You dont have to use this feature though, it sounds pretty good with just one bass. - Suitcase combo is in pristine condition, the 4B cab has a couple of small marks. Theres a cover for the amp. - This rig gives me the clearest sound I have ever heard from a bass amp . I've used many amps in my time (GK, Eden, Markbass, Orange etc.) but the clarity from this is phenomenal. Id keep it, if I had the space and my good lady didnt keep asking me when its going.... Heres some propaganda from the PJB site and some pics This has to be one of the highest spec ranges of amps on the market; I can readily see why this is regarded as a connoisseur’s amp. It’s bomb-proof in construction, has uniquely pure sound that will transform the sound of any bass put through it, and it provides everything the gigging player will want in terms of quality, reliability and sound. Totally silent and pure in operation, the no compromise hi-fi approach really works beautifully. For what it offers, the price is simply unbeatable (there’s a lot of higher priced amps that cannot match the suitcase for performance) and once you’ve tried one you will never look back. Music Mart magazine UK £650 cash if collected (Im west of nottingham, about 2 miles form J25 M1) £700 plus postage if I have to pack them to death and send them £750 ish for trades.
