A very late, but nevertheless heartfelt THANKYOU, for a fabulous and thoroughly enjoyable day.

Time to simplify. My personal rule of thumb is to take 1/2 to 2/3 of new shop price as being reasonable, if it's not been hammered. Any lower may be a bargain, but is more likely to be modifed/ damaged/knackered/stolen. Anything higher has to be in perfect nick, or a truly exceptional instrument that feels like my perfect partner, or has a sound that melts in my knees like ...... hmm.......a pint of Harvest Gold (best beer of Britain 2007) Vintage gear is another world entirely, and much more subjective/market forces/whims of the time. However, a good rule for me is never to even consider anything at Denmark Street prices. I look on ebay for final prices and dont just take one, but at least 3 if possible. Sometimes convincing folk that age doesnt mean it's a good or desirable musical instrument can be difficult. I once saw a guy advertisie a refinished 1966 Baldwin Burns at £10,000 because his mate had a 1960s Strat. I just couldnt convince him that it was worth perhaps less than 20th of price. Its probably still in his garage and probably got woodworm.. Ho hum. Im sure we have all heard tales like this.

Been in bands all my life. Looking to join anything interesting, from rock, to rock & roll, to cajun, to something totally different.I guess my ideal is good driving music, of any type, that will wow the audience, and give them a really great time, .Consider myself versatile, adaptable and competent, but I'm not a slapper or sight reader. Brought up on classic rock and rock and roll and electic mix of celtic with heavy metal. Old enough to be your dad but probably not your grandad. Slow blues makes me but one or two numbers in a set, I can cope with ! Never went pro and wouldnt want to. Good gear and transport. Serious about musical quality and tightness in a band, but Im very easy going and can fit in with just about anything. Open to new ideas and have lots of ideas myself. I bought a used Tascam Bass trainer from James. It was a really straightforward and easy transaction and he was a good guy. The Trainer was reasonably priced, it was in superb condition, carefully packed and it arrived exactly as described, the next day. I was so chuffed I sent him an extra fiver to cover his postage costs, which he had generously included in the purchase price. Communication was excellent throughout, he kept me informed at every stage. I have nothing but praise. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
