1. Martin bought my unfeasibly large bass flight case recently. It was a very easy and straightforward transaction. Great guy, one of the best !
 2.
Here are the pics, hope theyare ok, you can see the one ding on the back edge and the through body stringing. Thanks
Prices ?
 3. This is a high quality bass flight case originally supplied for a Manson bass. Heavy duty and very tough indeed. Suspect you could drive a truck over it ( but havent tried so no guarantee). In excellent condition, all catches and handle work fine. You'll need to buy some foam for the inside as I stripped the old stuff out - it was starting to crumble. Otherwise case is excellent working order. Can post I guess but I suspect postage will be more than the case, so personal collection (or a meet at J24 or J25 M1 much preferred). I need the space so it's going at a bargain price.
 4.
Ooooh, you wascally wabbits!
Wonderful wheeze - well done guys. Just dont think about it doing it seriously pleeezze ! This is the best musicians forum I know of.
 5. Mart has a great black on black P bass seeP bass that may still be for sale Hes a great guy to deal with.
 6.
Hi Funk This bass will be an even better sounding guitar than you tried in Soundcontrol as its a 1998 model which is when Gibson were making there guitars out of the finest Brazilian Hard woods:-) It has an awesome sound have a read of some of the reviews on Harmony Central see link in ad.. Cheers J
I wouldnt believe everything you read on Harmony central. The les paul bass has a maple cap on a mahogany body. The only brazilian wood likely to be used is mahogany and the supreiority of brazil mahogany for Les Pauls is apparently the subject of much opinion. What cant be denied is that Gibbos make well made and IMHO underrated basses (.....apart from the EB0 which is a complete dog ! ) Good luck
 7.
Hi Everyone!! Hope you like the Gibson Les Paul Bass....Tell me what you think it is worth??? I would be grateful for your ideas.... Regards J
Ill kick off with my 2p. The dollar prices at harmony central HC Gibson Std Bass although pretty out of date, may give you some idea of new and used prices. In excellent nick and in a bouyant market, could fetch well over a grand Id say, maybe 70% of new price maximum. However, presently the market is fickle and depressed and you dont know what offers may arise. Not so popular as T birds but also not so common, its a rather understated bass for its quality. Perhaps a slightly specialised market (due to lack of a top horn ?) but if the tone is as legendary for rock as many say it is, then a knowledgeable buyer would be very pleased to see one come onto the market. Just my opinion, and I stand to be corrected. Hope this helps.
 8. This looks the complete DBs to me, with a wonderful aged finish. I'd leave it as it is, enjoy owning it and buy another bass to do the bridge pickup bit. Oh and i'd buy it too if you wanted to put it up for sale....
 9.
Hi Andy Thanks for email..... Make me an sensible offer and I'll let you know what I think... J
Yes. Would be useful to have a guideline idea on price as I guess sensible might mean different things to different people. You may then get offers in your range of expectations. If you dont know waht it may be worth , then it's worthwhile asking us, we're pretty knowledgable and despite your previous experiences, we are pretty friendly. We dont really eat newbies for breakfast. Honest.
 10.
Hi, Lovely bass. Where in West Yorks are you? Cheers,
Brazilian Mahog is heavy stuff . How much does it weigh ?
 11.
Only three left now, but I might be adding a couple more in a week or two.
Yes please
 12.
all I meant is that if you disagree with the price, its normally better to pm him instead of making him out to be a dick to everyone on the forum. Who knows, maybe he has been misguided by someone as to the price people would pay here, but is a perfectly nice guy in real life? We'll never find out now as he's no longer on the forum and will never return, plus will now tell people of his bad experience if asked about basschat.
You are right Josh. Ive noticed a recent rash of newbies asking the earth for basses just because we are a bass forum ( even folk asking higher than new prices) and this particularly blatent example of hiking up the price got up my nose. But I may have made one bad assumption here. Ooops ........Box of king size elastoplasts and a bucket of diplomacy at the ready for next time.
 13. Hmmm . This is a bass community not just another free classifieds, and pulling this sort of trick doesn't go down well. If you're a bass player or enthusiast, please introduce yourself, contribute to the forum, and welcome. If youre not, then you may get a better response from Loot. Theres a section on this site in Marketplace for Ebay links and IMHO this needs to go there.
 14. Is this the same bass as on Ebay with a Buy it Now price of £1050 ? Ebay link. Why the premium for Basschat members ?
 15.
Anyone interested in a swap? Slightly unusual request, in that due to my poor eyesight, I have become pretty much dependent upon neck leds for playing on dark stages, so I am looking to exchange my 2004 SKJOLD EXOTIC CUSTOM for a similar quality bass with the all important missing leds! I really dont like the idea of fitting leds to this bass, as its absolutely beautiful, unmarked and I guess too good to be bashed about at the kind of gigs we do. I usually gig with my ACG or Sei, which have leds of course, or sometimes use my Lakland Joe Osborne, again lit up. Its such a shame to leave a brilliant bass on a rack when someone should be using it. Is there anyone out there who might be interested in a swap? It would have to be an interesting bass, in mint condition as this one is, perhaps a newer Status/Sei or whathaveyou. Just looking for a change I suppose! Its a model that was made by Pete as a show demo piece, wth spalted beech top, 7 piece neck, gorgeous Bocote fingerboard, 35" scale (but the bridge is set way down so you dont even notice the length). EMGs are fitted, with recessed straplocks, absolute top quality fittings, and even the back is bookmatched beech. Its a long shot, but any interest out there? New, this bass would be something over £2,500. Added 27th December: As the swap idea was a long shot, I will now sell for £1,250. 3rd January: PRICE REDUCED TO £1,100!
Well done Bob !
 16.
PM'ed re 4 of the basses
Have a bump for a spectacularly interesting group of instruments.
 17. What a fabulous array of beautiful basses. So many iconic shapes in there. These wont stay for sale long. Good luck ! Colin
 18.
See Celinder J Could you tell us why your bass is worth the extra £1000 ? No offence meant, just like to know what's different (apart form the obvious) about your celinder. Thanks
No answer ? I guess the Q Im asking Rene is it a non-standard or a custom bass, or does it have enhanced features that justifies the price ? If not your cash price might be bit much for us cash- strapped UK bassists in the current market. I am no expert on Celinder pricing but see bass exchange site music review sitefor comparisons. I guess you'll get a good trade though. Wish I had something to swop for it ! Good luck with the trade/sale Cheers Colin

 20.
a long shot is it still avaiable
Your long shot..............worked ! Yes it is actually still here - the buyer pulled out. I put it away and completely forgot about it. It's pretty much pristine. Colin
 21.
i think pics would be fairly vital for this sale
+1. After EBall took over they used up the pre EB parts over several years. I guess to me it's not really a hybrid ( which to me suggests mixed parts from different instruments) its really an early EB stingray. It probably wont have some of the features ( eg through body stringing, epoxy preamp) of the more desirable pre 1980s preEB basses. However this doesnt mean its not a good bass. I've seen half a dozen basses from this period and although they varied in build quality, many were very powerful and well made instruments. The early 2 EQ helps IMHO. Some were a bit heavy , so an indication of the weight would be useful and pleeeeeese can we have some pics ! Good look with the sale ! best wishes Colin
 22.
Built like Sharon Davis Circa 79 ... ! D
...so did you have a price in mind or are you hoping the forum will generate one for you ? Best come out with it straight if you are, and Im sure we'll try to help you.
 23. Friendly, honest, straightforward and a real nice guy too. On time despite coming halfway aceross England via the M25 ! We did quite a complex deal very easily, and then had a great time exchanging experiences. Top class man, I cant recommend him too highly. Many thanks !
