  1. It looks pretty much the same as the 66 Sunburst that Andy Baxter has for £2k less. The bass gallery is a very reliable dealer and very knowledgeable. Can’t think they’d make a mistake like not recognising a replacement pickguard. Can one year older make it worth £2k more?
  2. Born free - Matt Monroe (sorry, I know it’s naff but it was the 1st thing that came into my head).
  3. Whiskey in the jar - Thin Lizzy (& others before them)
  4. That is a bit flash, but rather nice. You’ll be needing a semi bass to go with it. 😆
  5. I have Chrimes on my Precision and La Bella on my Peerless semi. I prefer the La Bella, they’re a little smoother on the winds, and a little less tension. I find Chromes a little “stiff”.
  6. I still enjoy Dave’s World of fun Stuff. He is a bass player and much of his repair work is on basses. How many times can you watch the neck being sorted and the action improved. In my case, quite a lot and I still can’t remember which way to turn the truss rod to reduce the neck relief.
  7. I’m curious, is there any point in having the body extend to the 12th in that way? Does it improve sustain or something? It must add considerably to the weight of the instrument.
  8. Curious it says “unbranded”. Headstock has TR and the T looks like the Tanglewood logo.
  9. I seem to remember the original Guild version had a built in stand on the back. Now that would be a useful innovation.
  10. Who knows where the time goes - Sandy Denny
  11. Don’t I remember that not so long ago you were going all 6 string Ibanez, then you reverted back to 4 string Jazz basses and now you’re going short scale! What’s with the big changes @FinnDave?
