  1. From the Blue Book :
  2. The James Jamerson fretless case just ended up after this recording. He explained that it was so awfully sounding that he nearly smashed it after this one and only attempt on fretless. As a double bass player, James Jamerson was told that he would get a close to that double bass sound with the Fender Precision Bass Fretless he was given the opportunity to use by Fender. He was more than disappointed and went back to The Funk Machine.
  3. As a big "mover", I've always found BassChat the place to buy, sell or trade. And even my niche instruments have always gone to another home very easily. So hats off @ped for this forum.
  4. And I have hundreds of examples like this. ^^^
  5. Thanks Russ. I've always thought that BC should provide a template for the selling ads that could help a lot people not knowing what to put in their ads. And dammit, ship your items, you'll sell everything you want. That's the key. Otherwise simply put an ad in the local xeroxed paper for the 25 homes down the street, if you want to be sure to keep your items. @binky_bass and I have been buying, trading and selling for years all over the world without real problems. And even then, there has always been a solution.
  6. Withdrawn, I keep it, it's too good.
  7. How many songs have classical singer or player written ? We can go on forever. IMHO, SC has no talent, like 99.99% of the radio stars. But thankfully :
  8. To me it's III Sides to Every Story. Saw them twice at the time. Great concerts, but they never played the acoustico symphonic parts, sadly.
  9. Super late bump for a great book. Ordered it today as a digital copy and started, well at the start... Thanks Rob.
  10. Too shy, hush, hush, ...
  11. The new Bach, or Mozart, or Beethoven, or Chopin, or... Come on, she is only a "rock" star, nothing more with all the over developed ego going with it. And this is valid for any "radio" star being it a man, woman or X as we say no. And what about the really talented Susan Boyle, same age, but not the same face. Strangely she had to struggle if not fight to get a bit of recognition...
  12. In fact, Nuno Bettencourt started his musical career as a bass player, he then switched to guitar, because, urm, urm, he was playing too many notes. These are his own words in an interview with Extreme looooooooooooooooooooooooooong ago (still had long hair, or simply put hair).
  13. Ok, Ed Sheeran break, then. 🤣
  14. Just bought your book to study some different pieces. Thanks again.
  15. Interesting book that you propose. I have a recording of these early bass composers. I'll listen back to it later. I like your playing too. Thanks for the link.
  16. Salut fieu, Dis c'est tof ton band. Allez, non peut-être. I don't know in which part of Brussels you are, so don't know which language you speak. That said welcome from La Gaume.
  17. In fact Neanderthals were more looking like this : This is truest reconstruction to date of a Neanderthal, the Man of Spy (Belgium) and they were way more clever than the Homo Sapiens Sapiens who is just a natural born killer... I could talk for ours of the two species, but it's not the point here.
  18. Wouldn't say so.
  19. And by the way, it's Sheryl, not Cheryl. 😉
  20. Especially when he's starting any of his guitar soli. Just awsome.
  21. That said, they both should stop the botox thing... Scary. 😱
