1.
Too much Sting? There's no such thing!!!
Ever tried a Stingray-on-steroids AKA Sterling? That one can sometimes have a bit too much of a good sting thing...
2.
The difference between the 8 and 4 ohm rating on any amp will be minimal and barely noticeable in a band. What you will notice is the number of speakers and, more importantly, the sensitivity of the cab.
This. If you really want to push the bass out, invest in more speaker surface area.
3. Where you pluck greatly influences the sound, that combined with the preamp (either 2- or 3-band eq) gives you a lot of different tones. People like to accuse the Stingray of being a one trick pony. Well as they saying goes: it's all in the hands. Maybe not all but a great deal is.
4. Mellow yellow. I like it.
5. Wonderful piece of bass gear by John East (www.east-uk.com). I have a DJ-Retro in my Lakland DJ4 which is the same preamp on a curved plate. Check out his stuff. Highly recommended!
6. Years ago Bass Player magazine did a J-bass pickup shootout. It must be out there.
7. You can indeed daisy chain two 8 ohm cabs to a TH350. The TH350 can handle that and will be able to deliver its full power. Only use one of these setups:

1x 8 ohm cab (175 W)
2x 8 ohm cab (350 W)
1x 4 ohm cab (350 W)
I had my TH350 hooked up to 2x 4x8" cabs. Works well! I keep the TH350 as backup since I have a GK Fusion 550.
8. My Sterling has been running on the same battery for 2 years now.
9. Are you sure a TL072 has the same pinout as a LM4250?
10. Lovely pedal that thickens up your tone in a nice way. Perhaps not best suited for bass but can be set to a lush chorus effect. If you don't have a use for the reverb, you can disable it and thus get more control over the modulation of the sound. This is done via the dip switches on the inside. I have the Keeley Abbey Chamber Verb so I disabled the reverb on the 30ms. This enables separate rate and depth controls in the Abbey mode which I use most.
11. Did you consider starting from the measurements of the Ashdown 8x10 King Combo and use these?
12. Preamp tube still OK?
13. Nice one, enjoy! Sterlings are great basses.
14. Two 8 ohm 210's or one 4 ohm 410, perhaps? Why not buy a second 210RBH? Adding a second cab really starts pushing the bass out.
15. Tweak the preamp of an existing design (or not and just rebadge) and a new amp is born. I expect the power module to be the same as the MarkBass Little Mark 3, both sport the 500 Watt MPT power amp.
16. Looks like a MusicMan BH-500 (made by MarkBass for MusicMan) if you ask me.
17. The green one looks cool IMO. Room for improvement in the knob department though. Those cheap knobs are só ugly on any instrument. They look utilitarian, fine on a piece of rack gear but not on a fine instrument.
18. No battery = no sound. That said, there's at least one Stingray (gilded white) I know of that has a passive/active push-pull knob.
19.
Any amp with a DI into a cheap mixing desk will do you. Means you can easily mix in your computer/phone etc to play along with too. And the extra EQ is nice to have also.
This. Not all amps have a headphone output, but a DI is present on almost all. You can even play with the pre/post EQ button, it gets you two sounds. Tone Hammers don't come with a headphone output BTW.
20. Disguise it as a new coffee table, add a table cloth and Bob's your uncle.
21.
... the bowel moving slam of the RB
Felt that a wee bit yesterday evening with my Fusion 550 (basically a 700RB with a valve preamp). Felt good.
22. Fusion 550 is the way to go. RB grunt and heft combined with valve goodness.

Bass amp newbie!

In your case you have no choice, you have use a jack plug at the amp side. At the cab you have a choice, either jack or speakon. With regard to the amps power output it doesn't really matter what you use both are fine. Just don't use a guitar cable! These are for low level signals only. Speakon is a better and safer method of connection however (twist-lock, capable of higher currents, larger contact surface area, can't be confused with signal levels (line, instrument) commonly using jack plugs).

Bass amp newbie!

1. hook up an 8 ohm load and the amp can deliver 180 watts, hook up a 4 ohm load (two 8 ohm cabs or one 4 ohm cab) and the amp can deliver 300 watts. 2. It looks like the amp only has a jack output, no speakon. Use a jack to speakon cable (as in the last picture), never use a guitar cable. These jack to speakon cables can be bought ready-made.
