2. What's your opinion of the recess on the back of the neck, which is meant to make access easier to the higher frets? BTW Good review
 3. I ordered some speakers from them a couple of years ago. The boxes were in a right state, fortunately the speakers were unblemished.
 4.
I reckon you've played half the basses on BC Rich
Half of all BC Rich basses Does Lorne know? Lovely Esh, if I could I would
 5.
Get on it! Some of the best live bands I've seen have consisted of "older" musicians. Look at bands like UK Subs, Charlie Harper is in his 60s and still full of energy and delivers a blistering live performance.
And he always has a 16 year old Punkette girlfriend! Go Charlie! BTW cool set list, I'd go see a band doing knocking those out Re the age thing. It's no barrier to having fun, but if I want to join a band intent on making it, telling people I'm in my 20's rather than pushing 40 would still be the best thing to do.
 6. A friend of mine used to run a music shop. One day a guy came in trying to see what he could get for his bass. The bass had the bridge at the bottom of the body, but there were holes wee bit up the body. When asked what they were for, the guy said he had put some new strings on, but they were longer than the original ones so he had to move the bridge to make them fit Now that's dumb! True story I 5h1t you not.
 7. 2nd hand values. I seem to remember a Gear Guide in one of the Guitar mags years ago. It was quite comprehensive, even featuring effects.
 8. Mike's cracking on with this isn't he How long until completion? Roughly?
 9. Playing in a Big Band (or Dance Band - slightly different) can be good fun and a nice little earner, and often featuring totty within the ranks
 10.
Okay so I guess I was being too subtle. For those who didn't get it, do you just assume that I randomly post pictures of fish? Still at least it didn't burst the bubble for a while.
neither did I
Actually I think that tomorrow, it won't be as bad as it seems.
11.
I will do just that, but do be aware that I'm not currently gigging (working nights has seen to that!) Having said that, I DO jam along to music a lot, so I'll have a reasonable idea of how it'd sit in a mix...
ta
 12. can't believe this hasn't sold yet, and only £150 New people are signing up to the site all the time, I'm sure there will be one into his/her metal that will snap this up.
 13.
And yesterday's addition... A Status Streamline. An Amazing Instrument. I had custom pickups and Series/Parallel switching for both, which gives some good tonal options!
Could you do a review of this, once you've got used to it and gigged it?
 14.
You missed Simon Farmer (Gus), John Diggins and Chris Eccleshall from the list of 'must feature' luthiers...
and Mike Walsh of Zoot bass.
 15.
Even the young guns who are currently making their name, including Jon Shuker,
I'm sure Jon will be delighted to know he was referred to as a young gun
 16.
- how about getting a music psychologist from teh orchestral side of things in to talk about team work?
I'm doing a masters in Music Psychology. It wouldn't be a problem to put BGM in touch with relevant people
 17.
I'll be the first to
Actually I think that tomorrow, it won't be as bad as it seems.
 18.
Ped and I have been approached by a well known bass publication and have recieved a cash offer plus a percentage on advertising in return for signing over the forum database and Basschat brand. We've thought long and hard about it and decided that with the personal attacks we've both had to put up with in the past and the limited funding we get from the site, its probably for the best. So from May 1st, Basschat will have new owners. The advertising and direct marketing will probably increase quite a bit but, simply put, the forum has to pay its way. Essentially you'll all see Basschat transformed from a voluntary effort to a grounded business. We'll be keeping the same moderating team and staying on as advisors for a few months but after that it will be up to the new owners. We'd like to thank you all for your support and contributions over the years and hope the forum continues to grow and improve.
I'll be the first to
 19.
(I was not me either..)
who were you then?
 20.
...and women. (or men if you are woman) (or men if you are a gay man) (just doing my sexist covering my own back thing there...)
what about lesbians or transgendered? sexist!
 21.
I agree with the OP and tBBC amongst the rest, it almost needs a Jeremy Clarkson "I don't give a s**t" style of reporting (not that I'd want it to be a Bass clone of Top Gear).
Telling people at a dinner party you play a Warwick is like telling them you’ve got the ebola virus and you’re about to sneeze. [On Vigier] I think the problem is that it’s French. It’s a surrendermonkey. I’m sorry, but having a Shuker in the house and not playing it is a bit like having Keira Knightley in your bed and sleeping on the couch. If you’ve got even half a scrotum it’s not going to happen. [On the Line 6 Lowdown LD400 Pro combo] It sounds like Barry White eating wasps. That new Flea bass really! It’s like a lion in orange dungarees. Kind of fierce, but ridiculous all at the same time. [On the Enfield 4 string bass] Think of it as Angelina Jolie. You’ve heard she’s mad and eats nothing but wallpaper paste. But you would, wouldn’t you? The Iceni Zoot Deluxe is like a quail’s egg dipped in celery salt and served in Julia Roberts’ belly button.
 22.
Turn off "Automatic Smart Quotes" in your page layout application.
Is this like Rita Skeeter's Quick-Quotes Quill?
 23.
I suppose I have little choice but to infer from this that I am one of the smart arses you refer to. Let me ask you this, next time you complain about the level of moderation on this 'ere forum, and how it's wrong what they do, are you going to set up a bass forum of your own, to give 'em a bit of competition?
ZING!
 24.
Seems like every other day another shiny plank of graphite lovliness is up on the block here..... Has the Status resurgence fizzled out...... ? Are Status Basses once again out of vogue ?
Their big name endorser is Mark King. When was he last in the hit parade? Level 42 do the nostalgia circuit, so maybe the association isn't all it could be to Status?
