1. Just scrapped my car today it was gonna cost more to pass the MOT than the car was worth. I'm gonna look out for a 1 litre hatch that's cheap to run.
 2.
Here's my new TC Electronics Rebel 450 and 2x10 and 2x12 cabs First time out on Saturday and very pleased with it I was too. Oodles of power and great tone. The cabs are surprisingly light for their power and the amp is very light as well. Took the '61 P Bass and the Alembic out for run too. Lovely stuff. Enjoy!
Another 2x10, 2x12 man! It's the way to go

 6. Not too bad. Can't say I noticed any changes, but that could be me. The Flea article was an advert for the Fleabass. "It doesn't need to be really expensive" Flea. Price £499.00 for the 34inch, £449.00 for the 30inch. So £500.00 for a made in China bass . No review though.
 7. Aways thought the Durannies had better songs, but Hadley is definitely a better singer. I preferred JT's basses too, especially when he got the Kubicki's! He's probably a better a bass player than MK.
 8. The all in one pup cover/ramp/thumb rest is going through a redesign. John sent me pics of a mock up, but I wanted it slightly longer to extend more towards the bridge. I'm gonna have to come up with a name for this to save having to write all in one pup cover/ramp/thumb rest. Any ideas? How about the Mac?
 9.
eek!
11.
Doesn't matter. McCartney picked up a Hofner, not a Gibson.
he picked up the cheaper copy because he couldn't afford the more expensive Gibson.
 12. Hofner Violin? Surely not, as it was a cheaper copy of a Gibson bass.
 13.
That's fairly rapid!
I'm not complaining, he's had to do a lot of stuff he's never done before, and work out how to do some others.
 14.
The waiting, the waiting... I know. It kills!
currently 1 year 6 months
 15.
Enough. They know enough about basses but not too much.
hmm, a dangerous amount
 16.
Then you're buggered. Or you could make one out of clear plastic and put the sticker on that. Hey Presto - a twofer solution. No need to thank me.
like the idea, but it would mean holes to screw the plate to the bass.
 17.
Ah cool. I thought as much. The only potential problem with this is if an LED goes. I don't know what the steps to remedy that would be. Best not think about it - cross that bridge when you get to it... hopefully, you never will! I'm really interested to see this build - it sounds really cooooool!! Post pics as soon as you can!! 4 weeks?!
Yep pics will be up as soon as, but I don't want to get my hopes up. It's not like I've already marked the date on my calendar or anything
 18.
Stick it on the scratchplate.
haven't got one.
 19.
In my experience, Gaffa tape will be okay. Now as we all know Gaffa will leave a sticky residue, but I've found it easy enough to remove (with tiny amounts of paint thinner in my case). How do I know this? In 1984 I bought what turned out to be a '68 4001S in fireglo - only I didn't like fireglo, so I covered the whole thing head to foot with small strips of gaffa. This remained on until about 6 months ago, and has cleaned up without any kind of mark or blemish. Fairly easily as well.
Sticker on Gaffa, Gaffa on bass? Could be an option, thanks.
 20.
I'm intrigued to see if he using the SimS retrofit method or if he put them in at the time of glueing the fretboard on. Both have their advantages and disadvantages - my only concern about the latter though, is ease of access should a LED fail. (Not that I have actually seen one fail under normal operation!) I've not seen the brass surrounds done on the front face of the neck before - they are usually reserved for the sides... so like I said, it will be cool to see the overall effect when the finished article is all strung up ready to go! There only appears to be two cable coming from the neck also - I wonder how the pulsing effect is done. Is the circuity housed in the neck too and they are the 9v/18v feed cables? How is the rotary control going to be built in? Obviously this isn't a completed function yet - I'm just curious to see how Jon has implemented his solution!
ok Jon's trade secrets! What he does is put them in before the fingerboard goes on usually, it would be possible to do the retrofit style but Jon thinks this way is neater and there's no tell tale routed bits. If he puts them in the board then he drills the holes for them and routs a tiny channel for the wires in the back of the board then hooks it all up, drills a hole through the neck for the two wires and glues the parts together - after testing. For side LED's he routs a channel in the neck for the wires then drills for the LED's once the board is tapered to fit, hooks up all the LED's and wires and glues the two parts together - again after testing.
 21. I like the bright pink and I don't care who knows it. has anybody played one? I've seen them for £155, are they cheap and cheerful or a bit of a bargain sound/playability-wise?
 22. Will whoever buys this please let me know when they gig it so I can come and drool
 23. must be the season for it , there's a whole spate of bargains in Bradford at the moment.
