1.
? They're all eighths of a semi-breve. Edit: regardless of how many there are in a bar.
but only in 4/4 do they have the value of an 8th. In 6/8 they have the value of a 6th. I can see I'm fighting a losing battle here
 2.
6/8 <- see the 8 at the bottom? There are six of those in a bar of 6/8. It makes total sense to me. In Indian music they'd just call it 6, which makes even more sense to me!
so if there are 6 of them, shouldn't they be 6ths? They are only 8ths when you have 8.
 3.
I'm not usually into basses
possibly on the wrong forum then?
 4.
It's either an SII Matrix or an Eclipse Artist 5. I'm thinking more Eclipse, as the controls are in the wrong place for an SII.
thanks!
 5. I've got a custom bass, and another custom build on the way. But I've still got GAS for a Dean Zone, and Metalman Z. And a Squire VMJ and classic series P. At the end of the day I'm a bassist, and I like looking at basses. That hasn't changed over the last 21 years so I don't think it's gonna change anytime soon
 6. I'm just interested in where on the neck anyone else plays. I start postition iv The 'keep your distance walk away...' bit I start position vii the mellow bit - position vii the solo bass bit leading to the triplet runs position xii the next bit once the triplets have finished - position v then back to position v for the repeated beginning bit at the end. So who does what differently?
 7. cheers for that! OutToPlayJazz can you hear me? And a quick edit, as I've just realised this is my 1000th post
 8. Hey guys I've Googled to no avail, to find what make of bass does Jaz Lochrie from Bad Company play. It's the 5-string, dark green and with humbuckers I'm trying to find. cheers. McD
 9.
The middle photo, "Three Poofs And A Precision".
tea --> screen!

 11.
I then commissioned a neck from Warmoth (wenge Jazz neck, with zircote finger board, maple fret markers and a flamed walnut headstock veneer) which turned out better than I could have imagined.
the plot thickens! I'll be following this
 12. I liked it before, and I'm liking it now I played this at a Bass Bash, that sweet Shuker neck is amazing.

 16.
More:
This is definitely the bass that should be in this:
 17. If anyone is going from South West London and has a spare seat let me know. I'll share petrol costs.
 18.
How long is a piece of string?
I do actually have a piece of string, kept specially for this purpose, so that when people ask I can tell them exactly how long it is. Although Tee's reply will suffice
 19. it's not small, it's compact and bijou
 20.
Well once its gone il be playing through A Mark Bass 4x10.. Even though the 6x10 is light to carry round, im not doing the gigs that need this kind of power. 4x10 is enough for me..
what head?
 21.
Have to agree with this 100%. We spent about £6000 on lawyers fees looking over our contracts. Took 3 months going back and forth ironing out all the issues.
Not in the MU? Could have saved yourself 6 grand! It's worth the monthly sub for the £2k of free instrument insurance alone, but when you figure in to it all the free legal and contract advice I'm amazed more musicians haven't joined
 22. Another Corkhead! Welcome to the forum.
 23. Hey Jason so once the Mark Bass rig is gone will you still have something to play through, or will the sale fund a GAS purchase? McD
