  2. or rather Jon has it. But it's for my basses
  3. i have my own Shuker template
  4. so long as it's being advertised as a film, and not a documentary...
  5. or try the'Disaster Area' approach: Their songs are on the whole very simple and mostly follow the familiar theme of boy-being meets girl-being beneath silvery moon, which then explodes for no adequately explored reason.
  6. if the cat can sit on the mat on the floor by the door then the hinge can be orange
  7. Sterling advice from Sir Tim Rice: Buy a decent rhyming dictionary and a thesaurus.
  8. The greatest lyrics ever are still "She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah". So don't overthink it.
  9. i'm sure i remember an interview with Brian May, in which he said they are contact with John regarding all Queen issues, and John was happy about it all and said 'keep sending me the cheques!".

  17. i could just post a multitude of Twisted Sister links, but I'll limit myself to these 2. The first the song and video that cracked the USA wide open for them, the second the one that was banned on MTV featuring Alice Cooper.
  18. I've mentioned before in other threads - but it bears repeating - that I once (unintentionally) saw a Coldplay tribute band. The best reaction they got, was the last song which was 'I believe in a thing cold love' by The Darkness. true story.
  19. going back to the cowbell... song / cowbell starts about 51 seconds in.
  20. ...without actually gigging it first? Winding it up at home is obviously out, and rehearsals are never at gig level. What to do?
  21. Re. Marc Almond. I saw Soft Cell during their first reunion in 2001. Bearing in mind I'm a former metal head still very much into guitars, I can still stay it's in my top 5 best gigs ever.
  22. It all depends. There is a train of thought that Sid Vicious was the epitome of the bass guitarist. Another would suggest Jaco Pastorius. Has anyone ever been at a gig and heard (a non-musician) someone say 'they're a good bass player!'.
  23. 10 years ago I was applying for jobs I was over qualified for with a masters, losing out to the PhDs who'd applied.
