1. I'm in Sandhurst. You are welcome to come over and I will help you set it up.
2. Where are you located please?
3. I've used The Chord Company Cream cables for the past 7 years. Highly recommended for sound and build quality without the crazy boutique prices. http://www.chord.co.uk/mobile/product.php?product=chord-cream-guitar-and-bass-cable
4. I'm always surprised by how loud a valve amp can be. I regularly gigged with a folk group with a 50 watt valve amp. It ran at about 80% full output into a modern efficient 1x15 cab and sounded wonderful.
5. Where are you located?
6.
I put a fender Custom Shop 62 in my Tokai and it sounds great. Very responsive and good balance of volume across all strings. Growls if you push it but stays punchy if you don't. Works very well with a bit of drive or gain from the preamp.
Another vote for the Fender Custom Shop here.
7.
I'm sure people do. Thing is, when 'in concert' a bass with a bit of drive, grind etc. on it can actually sound very clean. A lot of songs that appear to have clean bass on them turn out to be quite hairy when you listen to them in isolation.
This very true. Also I have found over the years the actual bass might dictate what kind of sound you use. For the past 5 or 6 years I've used only jazz style basses and found cleaner sounds complimented the jazz two pickup sound. Now I'm using a P bass I can't get enough of those dirty sounds via a Tech 21 VT500. This amp never really did it for me until I got the P , now a perfect match.
8. It's less than a year old.
9. OMG. My old bass. This is an amazing bass even at full price. At £550 is a fantastic bargain. It can go from vintage funky sounds right through to modern scooped because the pickups and preamp are so versatile. If I had the cash it would be coming back to me.
10. But how does it sound....
11. I'm so jealous. Keep us posted on the results.
12. Great news... it can be a big gamble but will free your mind and spirit and open up new musical adventures. Good luck :-)
13. Looks great. I really love the simple layout . But how does it sound....
14. It sounds like a bargain... but. Looking around SVT heads can be picked up for around £800 and cabs are simply not selling even at crazy prices because of their size and weight. The price is good but not the bargain it seems at first. Its crazy but in this light weight digital age these old school classic amp simply don't sell. :-(
15. I've used Haussel in the past.... http://www.haeussel.com/index.php?id=240
16.
Its basically a formant filter with the settings set by the envelope isn't it?
What ?
17. Check out this ...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aveUEZkcQno
18. I have for sale 3 pedals in a Boss BCB 30 case.
19. Very clean and hifi. Great for a modern sound 🔊.
20.
Not so bothered about width but I far prefer shallow necks.
+1 My P is 45MM but shallow and it plays great.
21. Why ?
22. I have used them for advice on replacement hifi valves and they really know about what works best in any given amp. Highly recommended.
23. Are they cut for four inline as in a P or Jazz ?
