I think I ultimately couldn't get on with the mid focused sound and the 1x15" cab SIM. The build quality and functionality is up there with the very best studio equipment and the sound was fantastic if you wanted the B15 experience. I've come to the conclusion that my sound is full range and clean. IMHO the Rheingold preamp with a vintage transformer Di just does it for me.

Well it had to happen in true Basschat GAS fashion I've sold the BR15. ☹️ There was nothing wrong with the Origin Effects BR15, it has a real old school sound that I ultimately didn't get on with. I put on the Rheingold BP-2 preamp with a United Vintage Di, my two favourite preamp / di combination. Now that's my sound.

I like the idea of the 200w combo. It could easily replaced my studio 110. UK-SBM-112-200 - Portable Power with a 12" Voice Delivering 200 watts through a Sica 12" speaker, this compact combo offers balanced tone and articulate response for rehearsal rooms, modest gig spaces, and home recording setups, while remaining easy to transport.

That's why I think it's a fantastic. Something different from the usual combo or cab design. I think it might be a bit marmite.

Regarding the price..... It is cheap compared to a Noble Di. 😀

I'm loving mine. It does sound huge.... So much bottom end. I'm rolling back the volume control on my bass, adding chorus and reverb for that 1980s synth vibe.

Old and new style packaging?

I've had similar problems with various peices of equipment over the years. I've had horrid sounds in the house and silence at other locations. Unfortunately there is no cure.

Yep I ordered 9 set of the Warwick strings and I don't even have a long scale bass. 😂😂😂

Arrived today. 😀 Even at it's lowest settings I'm getting pure square wave fuzz. Mix it with a chorus pedal for early 1980s synth sound. Perfect for early Gary Numan / Tube way army.
