  1. Quite right. The GR Bass rig is 700w, the Ashdown 100w. I like my sound clean so the Ashdown is only used at sub break up levels from the power tubes. It's warm and fat.
  2. Two rigs now.... On the left we have my gig / loud rig. On the right we have my home / quiet rig.
  3. It's now mine. 😍
  4. Can you post the amp?
  5. I must get around to writing a proper review of the Newtone Shorties. I've just put on their new Shorties B string onto the Serek Midwestern 5 and it is a fantastic combination. Every string has a consistent sound, tension and feel. I've not come across better sounding strings for a 5 string short scale bass.
  6. A big thank you to all who were there today. As a new comer to the Bash I was made most welcome and it was fantastic to see such a wonderful selection of bass gear. Also the food was unbelievably good. I had second helpings all round. Yum Yum
  7. Unfortunately I can't help. The family have made alternative plans for tomorrow. Sorry. I'm sure we can all help out if required.
  8. I've just recovered from the same nasty illness. It's taken nearly two weeks to recover. Luckily I'm ok for tomorrow but it was touch and go only yesterday. Hope you feel better soon.
  9. Check out the Sonic Farm 2di4. I've owned nearly every Di that is out there including the Nobel and have sold them all. The Sonic Farm is clean but adds a little valve magic to the bass sound. Just the right amount of colouration. Hope this helps.
  10. It's gone....☹️
  11. I get very excited every time this wonderful bass appears. So pretty. 😍
  12. Size and weight please. Many thanks.
  13. I agree, 3m,5m and 6m with angled at one end. 👍
  14. In true Basschat tradition. 🤠
  15. I use two cables lengths that can be swapped out depending on venue size. 3m and 6m Hope this helps.
  16. It's a good question. Personally I like a very clean amp / cab that lets the bass sound shine through. I use GRbass amp and cabs for their relatively uncoloured sound. It would be interesting to hear what cabs create that heavy rock sound, possibly the more old school cabs from 30 years ago that don't have tweeters.
  17. Due to a gig cancellation I'm now free for the bash. Please be gentle as it's my first time. I can bring... Serek the Grand Serek Midwestern 5 GR bass Dual 1400 GR bass AT212 Warwick Gnome Sonic Farm 2di4 Vovox instrument cables. For the raffle.... New guitar strap. Marc
  18. RightOn Bassman Smooth Bass Strap. Black leather. Pick holder pockets. Adjustable from 98mm to 153mm. 8cm in width. Only 4 weeks old. Cost £62 excluding postage. Offered at £40 including UK postage. https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/righton-bassman-smooth/
  19. Picture please.🤠
  20. I have a unused strap that can be adjusted from 98cm to 150. £15 including UK postage.
  21. It adds a fuzzy tone to the signal. Sounds very 1960's / 70's
  22. I think many of us "seasoned" Basschatters are getting to the age where a heavy 34" scale bass just won't cut it anymore. Up until a few months ago I never considered a short scale bass but with an aging back and early arthritis I really didn't want to cart around a 4.5kg bass for hours on end. I bought an Acinonyx and didn't look back. I sold all of my 34" anchors and found my perfect bass company... Serek. Now have two, one for an old school vide and the other for more modern jazz bass tones. Perfect.
