1.
I have an invisible one for £30.
I had one of those but cant find it now :-(
 2. I love whats left of my CVP. Other than a new neck, new bridge, new pup, new pick guard, new pots and wiring its pretty much stock :-) Seriously though, i wanted a Jazz neck as i dont get on with P necks much so its nothing against the CV neck, just that i wanted something different. For a while i had my CV Jazz neck on it but when i started using the Jazz i had to put it back on. I also dont like 20mm string spacing so replaced the bridges on both basses but both were very playable straight out of the box. I think the workmanship on these basses is incredible, especially considering the cost and im more than happy to display the word Squier on the head stock.
 3.
Lots of Streamliner love here. Remember, one of the keys to this amp is never to be afraid to roll the lows off...
Its seems its almost obligatory to roll of the lows
 4. No problem, i hope i can help. We arent open over the weekend but once i get the info ill pass it on and try and get you a good price.
 5. Ill definitely be purchasing one or two more, probably in "summer" colours but a black or grey with orange would be great. Regarding the stickers. I work for a small printers and might be able to help. If you want to PM me some details i can pass it on to our Litho dept and see if they can help. We are only a very small company so so it could be that we work out too expensive but if you want me to look in to it let me know. This is our website http://www.oldacres.co.uk
 6. My new Polo shirts arrived today, thanks Chris.. I actually prefer this one over the custom ones as I love the black and orange colour scheme. So, thats two Polo's and one grey/orange T's (that i cant really get in to) ive got now. Funny thing is i noticed that since last Thursday ive been wearing bass related tops, without actually realising it until today. I've also got a TalkBass T, a nice T from Burtons that's got a bass on it, a bass clef T and i had on one of my sons "my Dad plays bass" tops.. Bloody hell, has my mid life crises has started?. Still, its cheaper than buying basses.
 7.
That's about the top and bottom of it. The most expensive things I've ever bought are houses, and never ever have I met or spoken to the seller!
I assume you looked at the house and went through some sort of trusted agent or bank? What happens when something goes wrong? Done doesn't mean finished if the bass (no idea where houses and cars came from, or why) has faults. While this has nothing to do with the post count topic i really envy those who live in this perfect world and every thing they buy, unseen is perfect.
 8.
I don’t get this at all?, perhaps I’m missing something?
Well only that this is my opinion and no one elses ;-)
 9. I just noticed Soundslive have these on pre order. At £44 i think ill give them a miss for now http://www.soundsliv...33~ID~16964.asp
 10.
He's he the fella that did that awful "stop the cavalry" song that they keep playing round Christmas ?
LOL, must have changed his name to avoid being hit by music lovers.
 11. Buying almost any bass means you are buying something a big name player uses, but buying a sig version is normally because of the way its been customised. The way i look at sig basses is just that they have something different from the usual line, that may or may not be an improvement. My Duck Dunn was a fantastic find as i wanted a P with a blocked Jazz neck and this fitted the bill, i didnt care whose name was on it. Same with my DJ5 (in fact i had to look him up)
 12. I'd vote for a min post count but dont really care as i wouldnt buy from anyone that just comes on here to sell something. Getting to know people before buying or selling is important to me, thats why i would never use eBay or Gumtree for expensive items.
 13.
Go to your room!
14.
Is music really like any other mundane job? I don't think it can be compared. What do you think?
To many its a passion, and ive yet to find someone who doesn't like talking about their passion. Then again, i can understand if you get asked the same old questions every time you are out in public. I can imagine that would be tiresome.
 15.
How likely is it that he's gonna get harrassed? Did Guy Pratt get hassled when he joined? I think most people on here have enough respect to not message a well known user stupid questions every few seconds.
Agreed. After all, we are all stars anyway so know how to behave.
 16. Same effect as a girl joining a computer club back in the 70s
 17.
You're a girl?
What, you didnt notice her initials
 18.
Bet he's regretting it already give a guy a break
Im sure he loves it. Looking at his three posts, and name dropping in each one, i get the impression he wants people to know who he is. Nothing wrong with that of course but if you dont want the attention etc etc
 19. I had a white MIA P5 a few years ago. Lovely bass, wish i had kept it now. When i was trying to source one there were a lot of UK based companies advertising them, but non had them in stock, and the strange this was they nearly all insisted that they could get me one, but as its a special order i would have to keep it, even though i was buying online. I found this very disturbing so went with Thomanns, who not only had them in stock, were cheaper and didnt try and stiff me, gave me 30 days to return it if i didnt it.
 20. Never been a real fan but i do like the first album, and tend to play the bass line to I Am the Resurrection at sound checks occasionally (my old band did this song). Shame Guy Pratt doesn't much
 21. Blimey, i didnt realise they changed it. All the info is still there under the support/setup guides though, just under a different name.
 22. I also use Fender nickels, or XL's on my CV jazz. I find they sound nice and bright but not clanky. I tend to change mine every 5-6 gigs but thats because i like hearing the overtones and not too keen on the more mellow tone once they have worn in too much. Although i do my own setups im not sure about the boomy 7th fret thing. It sounds to me this could be a certain freq that is getting boosted somehow, maybe the amp or cab is causing this. I think the first thing to do would be to get some new strings, make sure the pup is not too close to the strings (you can find the correct "starter" settings on the Mr Gearhead website). Have a look in the repairs and technical issues forum for setup guides. I personally use the Lakland one but there are plenty of others.
 23. do you get to play with your longboat in the bath
 24.
I really think it's a nostalgia thing, having a 70's P bass with original this and that, genuine roadworn etc. Listened to all of the vids posted, and many more on youtube. I still think it has been super-seeded by many basses but people keep looking back a Jamerson and the likes thinking, "well if the old masters knew what was good"
I totally agree with that and i'm glad someone has finally said it. The amount of times ive heard how flats on a P are "tone heaven" astounds me. Its like nothing has changed in 50 years or whatever. There have been so many advances in bass tone yet the P bass has stuck around for all this time because people want to sound like someone who probably had no, or little choice back in the day. Saying that, i play a P and like how it sounds, but its more that im playing covers and most were recorded on a P or Jazz so for me its a tone i need to have, rather than would choose over any other tone, and, like the original recordings it just fits in nicely.
 25.
Blimey Dave, your kitchen looks clean!
Oi, enough of that, its HER kitchen ;-)
