  1. But doesn't it give your tone Geddy's character 🙂 To me that implies its a pedal designed to give your tone a certain character, just like the others, but in a different way. I know its not as simple as that but thats the end result. Similar box, different tone coming gout of it. ill be interested to hear what other tones its capable of. Geddy's tone is great for Geddy, but id like to see how versatile it is for getting less Geddy tones. The Deep/Drive knob looks interesting.
  2. Bottom line would be battery power. most of the time i just sit on my bed playing, but sometimes go in to other rooms. Its just easier than having to worry about a PSU as well.
  3. Oh god, more money going out of my account. I use my B1-on almost every day for practising at home, but this looks much nicer. I have aB3n but never use it.
  4. ive not found any of the drive tone prints much use for this pedal, but i do like the clean boost TP. Very handy. I recently got a BH800, based on loving the SD EQ section.
  5. No. The Spectradrive only has OD and Spectracomp slots. There are various tone prints for these, but you have to use the Spectradrive specific ones. There are a lot more comp tone prints for this compared to the BH800 though.
  6. This is the version my band covered. Better than the original IMO, although the first few lines of verse one seem a bit off key.
  7. How strange, i came across these a couple of hours ago on YouTube. Loved their version of Cant buy me love.
  8. Oh yes, totally agree. in fact an hour before that photo was taken i had a BDDI in the place of the Q/strip. i refuse to buy a larger board as i know ill end up having to fill it. 🙄
  9. Sitting in a draw at the moment. If I want to put another pedal on then i can take the Helix and Corona off and replace them with the Lunar. Not getting shot of it just yet..
  10. Good point, but I’m actually running out of things i want on it. The Spectradrive has been replaced with the BH800, and I cant think of any other effects I really need, other than maybe a mini sub n up. The Q/Strip will come off soon I except, so ill have room for something else.
  11. I keep changing mine. First was how it stood this time last week, and second how it is now.
  12. After a long play last night i took my Basswitch off the board and put the BDDI back on. Its a cliche phrase but to my ears its 'tone heaven'. I found the BW to be doing a good job, but the BDDI can do that, and more if needed. The BDDI seems to make a really nice difference with my new BH800.
  13. That's sort of the setting i was using last night at rehearsal. EQ blended in very slightly, but mainly using it for the harmonics side. Its a subtle effect though. Im now not sure its worth keeping for me, but i need to play with it more in a live environment before deciding.
  14. My sons, a few years ago. They now both deny its them lol.
  15. A lot of people like the TC Electronics BH250 amp, and this comes in various combo form as well. Something like the 1x12 will be more than enough. It has a nice DI out, a tuner, very good EQ and you can load effects in to it. https://www.tcelectronic.com/Categories/Tcelectronic/Bass/Combo-Amplifiers/BG250-112/p/P0BRK#googtrans(en|en)
  16. I have one that i tend to use just behind the nut. It adds a splash of colour to the maple headstock. I originally got it to help stop ringing strings when i play the middle bit in Alright now. I play with a pick and find it can sound a bit messy if the wrong string is ringing out. We dont play it now but it still looks cool and gets comments.
  17. As do GK.
  18. This is where i am now. I used to hate playing P necks, and if possible i would put a Jazz neck on them. I even have a Lakland JO4 neck that is/was my standard replacement neck for Fender type P basses. When i was using my Squeir CVP it had my CV Jazz neck on it. A few years ago i got my Fender Sandblasted P bass and just kept at it as i liked the neck. it felt a lot more comfortable to play then any P neck i had tried before. Now i feel more comfortable on this than i do the same jazz neck i once lived to bits. When i got my Jack Casady bass i was worried about the neck but again, no issues. My thinking is this. Although i could play a P neck i chose not to as it was easier for me to play the jazz neck. I guess i was so used to the jazz neck that anything other than that seemed strange and i just didn't bother. Being forced to stick with the current P neck has made me used to that now and i get on a lot better with wider nut width necks. i got the CV Jazz out a few weeks ago and although it felt like i could play faster on it, it also felt awkward. i guess its just not what im used to any more.
  19. So far this year ive brought a TCE BH800 head, a Basswitch Sonic Spark, microThumpinator, new bridge for my P bass. Cant wait for Feb to arrive......
  20. There are loads of synth apps that have ribbon type control for tablets/smartphones. I’m sure you could just record this yourself. It cant be too hard to find something that sounds very similar. Just save the recording out as an MP3.
  21. When we used to play this our guitarist would do that bit. He would grab an empty beer bottle and use it as a slide. Always sounded ok, as in not Country and Western, and did the job.
  22. I didn't think it a real world issue as such. once you get used to it (10 seconds) its fine. I agree though, i think they are still on the first run. If mine didnt have that loose screw rattling around i woudl have kept it, although id have a hard time keeping it too long as my mind has been on a BH head for a while now.
  23. I got my BQ550 a week ago and it was still reversed.
  24. Headphones only for me at home. Sitting on my bed with bass and ipad plugged in to either my Zoom B1-on or my pedal board that has my Spectradrive at the end which has 1/8th aux in and headphone out. I tend to just browse through YT when i get bored and learn new songs, even though ive probably sat down to learn band songs.
  25. Yeah, the manual/instructions aren't clear, although the YT videos are.....sort of. i found i can get quite a nice dirty tone with the Enhance turned right up, although its not a tone id find a real use for as i have better ways of doing it.
