  1. What a beautiful headstock decal
  2. The best musician in Metallica has always been the bass player. Interesting you mention Bello as always feel he’s the overlooked one.
  3. Harley Benton babygrow edit. Sorry it’s for you isn’t it. Another HB then
  4. High cost and long lead times - custom builds are ripe for disappointment. There's been a few here recently - faultless bass arrives and it’s just not what you’d hoped for. It’s an expensive lesson. Years back had a custom build from US - specced woods but naively left selecting exact pieces to the luthier, he’d done other basses in this wood and I’d ‘assumed’ would look the same. My fault, and my money. Hoped I'd warm to it but sold within a year for half what I’d paid. What’s the one piece of advice you’d give anyone embarking on a custom build?
  5. Mockingbird will always mean Peace Sells to me. Applaud your dedication to the cause, and your patience..

    Ramp

Your luthier could just make a regular ramp to fit inbetween the pickups, give you more freedom on pickup height, and avoid magnets on pickups?
  7. Mildly interesting - fruits of the mediocre - one of Eric Claptons cars for sale
  8. Related to the ‘turn offs’ thread - genuine question but would anyone Not buy a bass solely because of the headstock logo? These ‘Sadowskys’ are an interesting test.
  9. My mate found a rats tooth in a Yop yoghurt drink. He complained and they sent him £20 of Yop vouchers.
  10. My brother lives there too and says the same. Town also has Rusty Goffe, the Willy Wonka dwarf. Yet to see the two together but would make quite the pair.
  11. +1 for Aerodyne. Lightest bass Fender still make..
  12. Laughing at how much unspoken disgust NBD threads must generate.
  13. Absolutely. Wasn't for a minute suggesting you should do more of anything or chase any populism - it's great the way it is. My point was really that the FFYL piece will have definately brought your 'learn to read music' maxim to some new folk.
  14. Brilliant. Fascinating liner notes on that one as well. Sweeping generalisation on FFYL audience but you’d assume your more rock oriented transcriptions might motivate a few more souls to persevere with notation..
  15. Not sure I want to see her enjoying it
  16. 8.5lbs actually really light for a 5. One of the lucky ones (my P7 is 10lbs ) They’re fabulous basses, and you’ve got the best colour V7 IMO, looks great without pickguard too
  17. Great kit. Been using TAC2 for 6 years now (into Ableton), still going strong..
  18. Not much experience with Audacity so apologies if a dumb question - but don't you just set the start point the vocal stem fractionally later to offset the latency?
  19. Jesus I knew these V7s were heavy... !?
  20. ‘one of the first great pop records about great pop records’ (think that was Dave Hepworth ..) Also one of the longest songs to reach number 1, until Oasis came along
  21. Pick the one who tunes up with the volume off
  22. Red / rosewood, looks better. Well done anyone picking out the different woods without looking, wish I’d started wearing earplugs when you did.
  23. Dance is pretty broad .. Three favourites From back in the day And danced many a night away to this.. Dead cert if DJing a wedding..
  24. That Oakenfold mix of Lemon, and Jnr Boys Own take on Salome, both brilliant. Not a fan of U2 but they had some great remixes in the 90s.
  25. Sounds great. Love the dog going to sleep at 2mins..
