I also found a few threads knocking about on talkbass etc where guys with VTC fitted Sadowskys said that the difference was minimal.

The latest in my gear clear out to raise cash & it doesn't get much use anymore. Boss ME50B multi effects pedal. A great multi effects unit with lots of preset tones, 3 foot switches, a wah pedal, a built in tuner & loads more. Comes in a perfect fitting cardboard box that I've always used to carry it around in! Here's a link to the manual plus the full specs... Not a fan of ash trays on P's due to no chrome plate. Therefore personally don't think it would suit your J. On a side note would adding an ash tray without foam change the sound at all? Only ever played one bass that was fitted with an ash tray. Edit: incomplete sentence!
