1. Very nice, like the light mojo Can you tell me more about the wire wool job ? What grade? Can you see the work or dies it just look Matt rather than a bit relic Thanks
2. I don't think it makes a great deal of difference The string only vibrates between nut and saddle but I suppose with the extra string length you're making the bass marginally heavier so there might be a tiny advantage there but who regularly plays notes that are long enough for this to matter ?
3.
I'd spend that amount of money on the best vintage Fender I could find.
Totally agree Safe investment
4. I had a VM Precision and it was totally awesome
5. PayPal have got very greedy
6. Pretty!
7. BWB is right I think if you want early 70s Look for Gary macs sale thread - he's selling a mint one I can't see the avatar too well on my iPhone but that looks like very nice tort
8.
Not really aggro, Talbo. You're asking a lot of money for a bass that you haven't provided details for. Would you part with £2200 to someone who couldn't take the time to provide pictures of the actual item?
+ 1 its fair comment on why your item Isn't shifting. You have an interested potential buyer, you should, in my very humble opinion, be doing your best to answer their questions if you want to trade with them and shift a high ticket item
9. Can't seem to find this on catchup ? Went to bed early last night as falling asleep on the sofa at 7pm was a good indicator of being too tired to stay up Yeah I know ...,
10. How far away are they ? can you go there and look ? If you post the name of the venue, perhaps a local member can tell you if they're open/boarded up/closed etc
11. The keys player is cute
12.
ok ok so technically she's not wearing black
Who are they ?
13. maybe PM "the bass doc" about a new plate. He may also be able to source the knobs for you.
14. It will be better for rock if you do that. ... maybe you should just fill it with actual rock, then it will be perfect for it.
15. yep - if you agreed to this, then youre probably stuck. If they've just mentioneed it, you can tell them to shove it as you wouldnt have entered the contract if you'd known at the outset, would you. ?
16. I don't know what they look like, maybe you should post a picture in case people have seen them around ?
17. Mention of any damage, changes ; that kind of thing. Nice photos though
18. Santa brought me an irig stomp - it can be a practice amp with headphones , preamp, or regular irig to an iPhone / iPad - runs emulations on the iPhone . Not tried it yet but a regular bAse irig was very useful in the past year I also got a Cruz multitool which has already proved useful for putting batteries in things I have spent the entire day building fricking playmobil and Lego Barbie sets Apart from that, lots of coffee beans. And a sony cyber shot bridge camera and a wifi card
19. It is, but the OP was buying in person . It's entirely different
20. I just use cheapie coban strings from the bay. Cheap and last ages, not too bright with a nice tone
21. Sure - I use 18 months a reasonable time frame for something to last IF it's a quality item. A trader has to be able to rely on a sale after a certain amount of time has passed If it's goes wrong in six months and you haven't been brutal with it then reject it in writing and be prepared to see them in court if the trader doesn't see the clear writing on the wall
22.
But you can expect an amp that costs several hundred £ to last more than a year & be fit for purpose. By law, this is "upto" 6 years (depending on the item).
Sure but you can't expect it to be faultless for six years - there's a sliding scale of reasonableness If it electrocutes you then that's different
23. Speaking from experience of court, get it all written down as it happens , noting dates and any costs incurred, while it's fresh in your head. You can expect a product to last at least a year and can reject the goods if they go wrong in the first six months . Record the visits on your phone as voice messages if you can Give him a last chance to sort it out then start a court case. You will have notes, he will have no notes The five year liability is more to do with safety, you cannot expect things to last forever
