1. As someone who has no free time and a toddler (may be some correlation) I am both happy for you and deeply jealous at the same time Enjoy
2.
Hey, she was a bit of a looker when she was young. I mean, turning the tables for a moment, if you were a woman, would you fancy, say, BB King as he is now? But he's still a legend.
I agree, carol was hot with a capital "ouch" back then

11. Nope sorry chaPs, the Bass (colours) Act 1978 says in section 1.1 that all precision basses must be sunburst in colour. Nothing I can do, it's the law
12. Sorry, but it does I have a jap sunburst jazz. If I do relic it, that will be handy though so thanks for posting
13. Thanks a lot I have seen a lot of black plates, was that an option then ? Was yours red or brown tort btw?
14. I'd like to build a rePlica as I'm unlikely ever to buy the real thing. Can you please tell me if What colour the scratch plate is supposed to be as standard ? Is the sunburst two or three tone ? Where the tugbar is (I think below) What's on the neck plate ? Thanks to musky I know what the logo looks like. Thanks
15. ok - I was offered it by a friend of a friend - i have only seen mobile photos. It looks straight and not battered, with a 60s/early 70s style headstock and dots. I dont have a lot of cash kicking around right now so cant afford to be choosy On another note, does anyone know what the correct type of sunburst and scratchplate colour /logo style for a 73 precision is ? I thnk black pickups are correct with non-reverse elephant tuners. thanks
16. Don't know sorry - its been rubbed out so lacquer work needed Thinking of building a p bass if I can justify it
17. One that might need a bit of tidying up laquer wise with no logo . General thoughts please
18.
Is there anything better than Tobacco Burst / Maple FB combination?!!
yes, if it has a large 70s style headstock, or blocks

20.
Yep, it's going in a hard case, but I'm packing that inside delivery-quality packaging as well.
Read ParcelForce's website carefully - there is a specific point abut the hardcase forming part of the packaging - you have to take further steps if you want to be able to claim for damage to the hardcase. Have a look at the market place forum - theres a lengthy sticky thread about this on there http://basschat.co.uk/topic/156589-couriers-packing/- i posted the link there after my own bad experience.
21. Golden rule - read the couriers own site to see what rules they have. If you don't follow them they won't pay out . It happened to me; royal mail insist on a hard case for all instruments . If you don't do that they won't pay in event of damage
