1. Setup a "saved search" and set it to notify you. Refine it to your tastes, and prepare to wade through a lot of items. Be aware that bargains are often listed in wrong categories so set that criteria wide Sooner or later some pups will come up that you can collect locally, or that finish at a silly time of day that you can win for not much. Be patient is my advice The pup I got is used in some custom shop models so it was quite the bargain Alternatively PM bass chat member matte_black who makes his own, I bought the split coil jazz pups which were awesome
2. Keep looking on eBay - I got a fender classic 50s model (used) for £8
3. in perfect condition. 2 body pins and 2 strap fittings. £10 posted (or collect for a little less from near Mansfield) Please PM me as I dont get reply notificaition emails. make me a sensible offer ? thanks
4. That's amazing - I love the sign writing particularly
5.
Yes I do that, but then you don't see the ones that are outside the radius and willing to ship. Would be nice if there was a filter to eliminate collection only items.
Why don't you email them and suggest it ? They aren't psychic
6. I don't think its unreasonable of shock wave at all. I've only done one custom build and although I didn't tie down precise dates, my item was delivered within a reasonable time frame and was worth the wait
7. I have tried one of these (also red, do would probably sound the same) and it was awesome Picked up a pickup of this model on eBay for use into custom bass - it was that good
8. Is there vat on used items for private sellers ? I thought not
9.
saw one in a shop today and the pickups were smooth and the strings keep catching on mine making a nasty scratchy noise are all jazz picks the same
I would suggest if you're hitting strings on pole pieces, that the pickups are probably way too high.
10. It is, as they say, 'andsome
11. So the poles are the same distance from the strings on all strings so that volume is similar from each string. Look at the board, it has a radius, your strings should follow it.
12. The sun has 56 pages ? [startled look]

I'd be all over this like it was a porn starlet if I wasn't gas free. Someone please give the good Dr some cash for it ?

Lovely and a bargain at that price. Free bump
15. I already have
16. People round here seem to have bottomless parts bins. It was worth an ask
17. Is it possible to buy overwater bridges, pickups etc ?
18. good price - they are very good basses, if the one I tried in PMT Leeds was anything to go by.
19. Contact strings direct ? They can surely point you at nickel free strings. Your problem is not exactly rare according to a quick google search. This problem has a solution and a fairly cheap one
20. John East is actually a basschat member, you know. I'm sure he could advise you
21. Delicate fingers ? Put some rounds on, you complete pansy Seriously - I had a jretro for a while and it's worth thinking about. You can't make sound that isn't there though so ground wounds / flats might defeat it a little
22. Squier VM precision and still have change left over?
23. Put rounds on it ? Then you'll get less thunder
24. Pretty sure -pic has gone from original listing. It's a bitsa anyway. Told him at the time that it wasn't all fender Don't think calling it a "fender precision" is quite on though
