  2. You can buy p bass pickups on eBay very cheaply. I got one out of a classic 50s model (a £700 model) for only £8. You can always sell tjhem on if you don't like them

  4. You need to check resistance also - less ohms is better. Check from bridge to earth pin, from pickup shielding to pin

  9. You know how someone says something and it reminds you of a story ? That's how it works for me - a song spills out like a story (well 70% of it anyway ) I then forget to write it down or tell anyone and it disappears into the ether
  10. If you have an offset mortgage like I do, get a 0% (for a period) card, put the money to pay off your purchase in a bank accoutn linked to your mortgage (or save it into there) and then pay off the card when the time comes. That way the mortgage gets the beneift
  11. I got the bass doc to build me a better "old" fender using similar spec components to the time (1973) and its awesome. Simple and they work. Even non players think they look good

  23. I have just acquired one of these from a mate - anyone have an idea what they are worth ? Don't seem to come up often on the sale board I'm now firmly a precision fan so its surplus to my need Thanks
