Can I recommend Ed Friedland books to you @Harryb0201 he does lots of YouTube also. See also @Stuart Clayton for explaining extended scale patterns I also commend “bass guitar for dummies”, in the local library probably, as the author deconstructs the process of choosing notes for a bass line over given chords in a painless and informative manner. Lightbulb moment for me as he did it in just the right way.

If I have one thing to suggest, it’s “read a lot of technique books until you find the right one” No point soldiering in with one that isn’t reaching you. Like when you get a new maths teacher and they do it differently and you just get it... totally and don’t give in to GAS (gear acquisition syndrome), the gear you have right now is probably more capable than you are. mine is light years ahead of me.

I don’t think I was making such a specific assertion. There’s some real experts around here have serial numbers been on neck plates any time recently ? I thought frnder stopped that for reissues due to ease of faking but I could be wrong
