1. got a last minute King Crimson ticket from Richard. great guy and ticket in perfect condition, hehe ;-)
2. very nice! in fact this is rather further away from a W Thumb than I expected! Happy playing :-) cheers, Roman
3. the current finish on that poor bass..... looking fwd to seeing restoration pics! :-)
4. beauty! Having the piezo is a real bonus I think
5. IMO MEC pre-amps are quite harsh-sounding and can probably be improved on! I'm almost certainly going to try a John East BTB module in my Thumb NT6, when I have funds! Unless you're desperate for a active mids control, this may be more cost-effective alternative. cheers, Roman
6. My 4 string fretless acoustic just arrived! Interestingly, the HB label attached to the headstock had a QC stamp dated 23 May 2015.... wonder what happened in these 3 months? Bass is totally playable with no obvious defects, except maybe some light chipping on the fingerboard edges and the nut looks a tad rough. The fingerboard itself has some lighter streaks, but actually quite attractive.... for the money it's a ridiculous bargain. Pretty much confirming everyone else's experiences.... cheers, Roman
7. two things I'd recommend in a fretless are an ebony fretboard and an active Mids control. if you're new to fretless, having a fretted "twin" also helps
8. Great deal on the compressore! Excellent pedal GLWTS
9. +1 for Guitar Aid, Greg is a great guy and knows his stuff.
10. deep purple finish? good job and you work fast!!!
11. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/status-energy-4-fretless-bass-approx-1991-uk-made-Graphite-neck-inserts-/181841850077
12. If you wanted to drive the lower frequencies only, you could get something like SFX X&M and plug a OD pedal into the lower frequencies only...
13. great pedal, glwts! useful on any sound processing IMO, not just bass!
14. succumbed to temptation and ordered the fretless 4 acoustic on Saturday morning
15. only £10 shipping though - surely actual shipping costs would be more?!

17. I think it's pretty clear that the person on ebay is purposefully trying to deceive buyers and make money on the difference... I couldn't resist asking for a better picture of the dent for this one.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262013707642..... it seems almost masterful how bad the photo of the D is. Also, I must say, on the Deko acoustic they are selling, it appears as though some effort was applied to turn the D stamp into an actual dent!
18. thanks for the heads-up! I liked the mellotron patches they made available with the previous update.
