1.
The Pink Fairies hated soap.
Never Never Land was the only album to have a Track One, Side Two. All other albums begin mysteriously on track two; track one being missing.
 2. My Mexican Fender P had similar shims, a black plastic material on top of the metal shim. After about 9 month they shredded and fell out. Sometime later I got a slight buzz from the E tuner. Took it apart, re-assembled and its been OK. Your post #6 seems to be correct. Bin them before they fall out.
 3.
Air Supply hate vacuums.
The Pink Fairies never owned a vacuum cleaner.
 4. 60s band The Temperance Seven don't like to mention their 8th member, a violent, alcoholic electric bass player. I'd better have an orange juice, gave up beer after buying a Fender P bass. Cheers!
 5.
I'm still a bit wet behind the gills when it comes to scales.
I'm Ok with F shark.
 6.
Top Marquees to all jokes here. They have put me into a high state of Jubileeation
Indeed it has, with all intents and purpopses, the OP tried to flog a bit of gear, I'll bet he's glad the deal went up the pole now.
 7.
Yes, we'd better strike camp...
Is that a tentative suggestion?
 8.
Buy once, cry once. But that high ticket was partially why I suggested pitching the general idea to someone more local to you guys, and maybe more in tune with the market there.
Maybe get Barry onto the case....
 9.
people have been known to wigwam out.
Excellent! Please hold the line guys, this is getting more attention than the OP's topic.
 10.
Here's a promising looking one based on the B-15: http://www.trinityam...its_Triptop.htm Maybe you can get your guy interested in doing something similar?
A bit expensive? Kit Price does not include tubes. Perhaps there is extra mojo in the transformers
 11.
I've avoided going lead-free so far - I got a big roll of 60/40 from eBay which should last me for a couple of years at least.
Yes I also have this but only 0.5mm diameter 60/40. The solder turret tags take quite a bit of solder so I used a bigger gauge lead free. Lead free also wrecks iron bits quite quickly. (old Weller temp controlled 50 watt iron )
 12.
Anyone had any experience of the maker? Or DIY kits in general?
Have not bought one of the kits from that site but have got lots of bits from there (for a clone of a Fender bass amp). Barry's designs are well proven solid designs and he's a great bloke to deal with. The hard part is building cases for the amp, mine is stil unhoused after a year! I have many years experience of soldering, but this was my first 'lead-free' project and there were a few dry joints.
 13.
Robert Plant hates gardening.
But Charlie Watts is an excellent gardener. He does however have problems with moss in his lawns.
 14.
IMHO someone is using a computer programme not just to look for them. But to buy them as well.
Seems a logical explanation, but perhaps they have noted your activity and are winding you up But probably, ironically, a guy in China with a computer!
 15. Road accident statistics: Between 2000 and 2014, one in four of the pedestrians knocked down on the Abbey Road zebra crossing were not wearing shoes.
 16.
lol was waiting on that!!!
Classic! Passed the exam years ago, in those days you needed Morse, could never get it, so never got ticket. Harder than bass playing Still have a boat anchor (and have just puzzled a few BCers) Enjoy the (other) bands!
 17.
[sup]I'm not a fan of the Beatles or Paul - however, Come Together has a sublime bass line.[/sup]
I think this is the isolated bass (won't play for me at moment) https://www.youtube....h?v=kkxi-3omo4o
 18.
I don't think it's rot. It sounds and feels different, nice.
The physics of vibrating strings tells me your tension will be 96.4% of what it was at 440. Does not seem like much but I'll try it. Knowing my luck floppy strings will give me fret buzz on my uneven frets
 19. During The Killers highly successful UK tour, bassist and BC member Mark Stoermer was often heard to say, at the end of the gig, "I could murder a pint".
 20.
I have been looking at that shortscale Jazz bass for a while. It has finally been released here in the states...
? Jaguar SS 'club' running on Talkbass for a few years now, 150+ members
 21. I can only agree with the l̶a̶s̶t̶ second post. I've not played the Fender but got the SS Squier about a year ago. I put D'Addario XL chrome flats on it, the strings it came with were extra light and felt like elastic bands! If I was buying today I'd probably fit Thomastic flatwounds, expensive but will fit your budget (check they do short scale though). They are lower tension than the XLs. The only issue I had was open G buzzed on the first fret - the nut was too low, I expect it may have been a 'Friday afternoon' job. If you can get to a dealer and try before buy, you should not have any problems. The pups will not disappoint. (quick check for nut height, fret at the third fret - you should be able to see daylight under the first fret, I think the gap should be around 6 thou? If the string touches the fret, the nut is too low) EDIT: changed last to second - but he has a point 60 is an OK number by me!
 22.
Naw, I don't believe it, he's just spinning us a line!
No really. There will be a tribute song to Josh MacRae on the 2015 world tour, "For those about to mess about on the river (we salute you)."
 23.
- but then I've always thought Paice was a far more imaginative drummer!
Did you catch his program on PlanetRock recently (the series on drummers). Was very interesting, he went through all the guys who'd influenced him from way back. Hope its on listen again. I caught only a bit of the following episode with Rick Allen, fairly dull, he seemed to just play tracks of bands he'd bumped into on gigs, but to be fair only heard a bit of it.
 24.
It is cosmetically perfect, but had a bump on the neck which made it unplayable.... Martin
Mine has a visible bump in the neck at the 17th fret where it joins the body. I suspect the truss rod does not flex the neck beyond the 17th, where it is held straight by the body (unlike a bolt on neck solid). This seems to be the problem to me. However the 17th fret is also high as it was not seated fully into the board. When I fixed this, it did not buzz.. Action is a little high, but I gather this is usual for an acoustic? Twincam - go for it, nice bass for the money. But they don't issue vouchers for discontinued items which would not be in their future product list, as I found out, left it too long to review my next purchase!
 25. It has been said that hard rockers AC/DC got their name from a rating plate on an electrical appliance (sewing machine/drill/kettle?), but in fact they got the idea for the name while messing about on the river.
