1.
what school of thought makes a circle or zero radius not a point?
This one Link
2.
Me too as was the 24" radius (near flat) on my graft acg and custom telebass made by mike Walsh
Why 24" and not flat? I guess it's a marketing thing (big is better, but avoid infinite (or zero)). Just calculated the centre of the board is less than 1mm higher than the edge.
3. ...and my tracking notifications arrived 48 hrs after the movement.
4. I worry more about my frets, I'm sure the TI flats will outlive them seem to have significant wear after 12 months. Am I playing too much, or do I need a multiple GAS upgrade?
5. This is what I've typically had. Order placed Sunday14th but not acted upon til Monday 15th. (they don't work weekends). I could not see any parcel force tracking info until 5.00am on 19th. This shipment was about 24 hours slower than I was getting in previous months.
6.
Mercifully he chose to change it to Jim rather his first choice of Wayne.
Best not to confuse identity... http://www.waynekerrtest.com/
7. Welcome from another Worcestershire resident. I have Thomastik Infeld flatwounds on my P bass. Flats have higher tension than rounds but these are a little less than some other brands. Nice and smooth and no squeak. Downside is they are expensive. I'm just about to put some Status flatwounds on a short scale bass, I'll let you know how these are in a few days. I've got soft small hands and don't have a problem with these. But I do tend to play too hard with right hand fingers and lose skin (cannot use a pick to save my life) Sounds like you need a DI box, pity you missed the Hartke Bass Attacks for £37 A new bridge is 99.999% cosmetic
8.
A fellow Harley Benton acoustic owner ( BK-35 NT ) is wondering about the strings supplied. He's emailed Thomann asking what brand they are but no reply, Can anyone here help ?
I removed the bronze rounds from my DEKO fretted B-35NT 5iver after 1 day. Can't see me ever using them, he is welcome to them if any use
9. Tom Waits once did a show in Max's Kansas City, he was previously discovered waiting on the tables in their restaurant.
10. John Christopher Smith, although an excellent guitar player, never had his own band. He would often sit in for other guys and eventually changed his stage name to Johnny Depp.
11. Ironically, Rocksmith 2014 does not contain any tracks from the Smiths.
12.
You obviously typed the correct shipping address (which generates the address label) so one can only assume that the label has got torn, defaced or damaged in some way.
Have you logged on to Thomann's website to check they have your address correct on file? I've never had any problems, ordered several times. Usually on Sunday or Mondays and its alway arrived by 8.00 am following Thursday, sometimes late Wednesday. Usually have it delivered to work and that may help as we have Parcel Force deliveries most days and are <10 miles from a big depot. Home delivery I suspect may give me problems.
13.
hi everyone. Im graham ,55yrs old and NEVER touched a bass in my life!!!!
Welcome, you're not too old - you're younger than I am, got my first bass just 12 months ago. Had a very good year with it! Wish I had done it years ago, but maybe I did not have enough patience when younger (In my teens, gave up guitar after 1 year and piano after 2 years )
any tips or things to avoid???
Yes, GAS.
14.
If, however, one's objective is not to become Rembrandt, but simply to have a nice colourful picture of a Tigger, PBN are just fine. Similarly, tabs are useful to many. Not much harm done, methinks..?
This tab helped me play the piece without using any colored pencils. But most tab I find is just badly written.
15.
This is a good read.
I hope that works... And this is a good read. http://jamersonanaly...blogspot.co.uk/
16. Lots of dots in the aforementioned book. If you don't read (I don't ) there is some tab here which is fun to play. Quite a few stretches for my small hands! http://www.thebassme..._enough-tab.pdf I read somewhere (possibly in the Hanyes Fender manual) that Jameson's bass was mixed low level in the records otherwise due to technical limitations it caused the pickup arm to jump out of the vinyl track and they hoped it would be someday re-mastered.
17.
.....which i would recommend, Standing in the Shadows of Motown...
+1
18. Another stupid EU ruling forced upon us. Petition signed: https://www.change.org/p/vince-cable-mp-uphold-the-vat-exemption-threshold-for-businesses-supplying-digital-products
19. Not back from here. Same yesterday. Hope it's nothing to do with the Fender In Trouble thread. Massive downsize...? Website updates don't usually take 2 days or more.
20. Apparently, Punk Sanders really did carve it out of wood, but I'm to be discouraged from posting true facts here as it may mess up this thread.
21. Another possible clue to a mis-matched set is the saddles, after intonating, are zig-zagged rather than neatly staggered. Happened to me once with a heavier G from an odd set. Digital calipers are quite cheap these days, start from a tenner, measure to 0.01mm or 0.001 inch. Useful if you do a lot mucking about with strings (I always do after a GAS attack). (ps party not so good, tough beef, shortage of turkey, left after half a pint to arrange wife's new(ish) car to collect on Christmas Eve. Nightmare - last time I change cars late December)
22. The relief has moved since I adjusted it a few days ago, now very high. I've applied some 'righty-tighty' and it's fine now and easier to play. If you did not get a key (mine was in a plastic bag taped inside the inner box) it is 4mm and slightly longer than a standard Allen key, but a standard key will reach - be careful you don't scrunch up the strings.
23. The photo on Wings keyboardist's range of frozen ready made vegetarian meals has not changed for some time. Is there something we should know?
24. My Deko B-35 NT has 24 frets. Label inside says '5 String Fretless Acoustic Bass Guitar'. Can't see any faults, scratches or dents. Fret 17 is a bit high.
25. A big THANK YOU to Status for delivering Hot Wire strings in under 48 hours, arrived mid day Christmas Eve. The neck had been adjusted for a correct relief on the HB strings, when I put the Status strings on (one at a time) it was convex. A few adjustments of the double acting truss rod fixed that. Had problems getting the B string on, had to undwind the nylon/silk to get the string end into the peg hole. B Should make a good thumb rest They do sound good though. If I get GAS (again) I'll get another set. Thanks kodiakblair.
