1. No one has mentioned inductance yet, what colour is that? I'll bet BeardyBob has no idea.
 2.
When I have time after work, I'm going to google filling in a nut with superglue and filing it back again.
If you intend a restring, I'd try that before nut filling/filing. How do you check relief on a fretless, a straight edge I presume?
 3.
...And by the way, he was 50!
Ah, a youg 'un. Is there hope for me yet? A belated Welcome froggy
 4.
Nah! You just need some copper pipe from B&Q and arrange it like this..... http://www.earthborn...m/Pyramids.html
These work a treat. 15 minutes in one of these and I could play like John Paul Jones.
 5.
oh, so you're not interested in my results?
What are the absurdly high capacitance values shown on the right of the plot? I think you're taking the p1ss.
 6. Phil Spector never hired a session bassist who used a Spector bass. He reckoned there was only room in the studio for one Spector.
 7.
My tracking is showing 'received in destination country' at the moment, dated 11:32PM last night. I can't find the option to change the email tracking, but perhaps that's because I didn't use my phone.
Tracking options are at the bottom of the page where the tracking events are listed, under the heading "Notification Service". Perhaps you need to scroll down the page?
 8.
None of the B-52's are actually 52 years old.
They did a very good cover of Motörhead's Bomber.
 9. Members of Chicago, had a phobia about not knowing the exact time. It was not until the early 1970s that they were able to buy digital watches to relieve their fear.
 10. Reading Keith Emerson's biography, he was astonished when he overheard Roger say "Who's turn is it in the studio Tomorrow". "You mean you don't actually go into the studio together?" "Oh no we don't get on" - or something like that, I'd have to check the bio.
 11.
You can run a bass through a guitar amp at bedroom volumes.
My (old) Fender combo was horrible at these levels. Nasty speaker resonance at some points. I put a Eminence 10" bass unit in (chose one that was Ok for a sealed cab) and it makes a great bedroom volume practice amp.
 12.
Every bass player has owned/gbought a small practice amp which is what im talking about basically. I know if i had a choice between a solid state one or valve one which one i would chose and which one 99% of bass players would want. So im pretty sure a mass made all valve low watt bass combo sold for say around 200 pound would be a huge seller. If mark bass can sell a small 30 watt or what ever mini mark for well over 300 pound im pretty sure you would have an audince for an all valve practice amp at 200.
Valve components are just too expensive: High voltage caps, at least 2 transformers of (nowadays) non-standard design, expensive tubes (even preamp, at least £10 each compared to < £1 for equivalent solid state gain block), expensive power supply. It does not scale down either A pre-amp/driver for a 15W is much like that for a 200W. Incidentally, Fender's original bass amp (1952 Bassman) was I believe much sought after by guitar players, so there is nothing much technically different in bass amp components. And this was the design that Jim Marshall copied almost component for component for his first guitar amp.
 13. Somewhere else might be this (but just noticed out of stock) No idea of the quality, but you'll not need a fret level! Side dots may be annoying though as they are same position as fretted. http://www.customworldguitarparts.com/default/gitaar-halzen/bass-neck/p-bass-maple-neck-fretless-nitro-finish-top-quality.html
 14.
Im surprised Thomann don't do one im pretty sure it would sell well. In fact i might email them.
Good luck, I asked them to sell some 32" scale basses - still waiting
 15.
For a head..? What's the most dastardly of these laws, then..?
For 15W, as quoted by the OP, don't think there is one! But having just built one (2 x 6V6) , the bits were over £200. Now I have to make a box for it. We do need Thomann on the case.
 16.
Good to know that the ultrasonic cleaning works on them, though.
Which I got, incidentally, from Tandy - it was on offer. The manufacturer is http://www.jamesproducts.co.uk/ I'd avoid 'washing up' detergent as it contains salt!
 17.
Tom Petty...
Who in hindsight is glad he broke off the engagement to the daughter of Johnny Cash. Tom Petty-Cash ain't very rock and roll is it?
 18.
I hate to bang on about this but our children will be paying for our extravagance for the next fifty or so years - so it would be nice if we could keep their bills down a little by ensuring as much tax revenue stays in the UK as possible.
True. So who shops at Amazon?
 19. Lemmy always had trouble finding decent quality gardening tools, it was always a bit of a gamble. Then one day he found a Hollywood garden centre was selling high quality stainless steel garden tools. He made his purchase, declaring it to be the ace of spades.
 20.
Seashell, I may just take you up on that visit to town.
Ditto.....
 21. Anderson Council is a Pink Floyd tribute band, but there is no such band called Ferdinand von Belly.
 22. A Flock Of Seagulls were banned from several venues in the 80s for stealing popcorn from the audience.
