After weeks of constant bullying from a certain [i]Mr Al Krow[/i], I'd like to add throw one of my favourite bass lines into the mix. Having covered a few CH tracks in previous bands, I love his style and groove and especially his use of 2nds, which orthodox theory teaches us to only use as passing notes!

We use an online calendar that each band member can access to avoid this type of situation. But that only works if everyone actually fills it in.... In your situation, I'd not only take the wife to the gig that you have tickets for, but I'd also be on the look out for a new band to join.

I've no idea if the Magellan can power a foot-switch. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere so I'm assuming that it can't. Mine is powered from a fuel tank junior power supply that feeds my tuner and compressor pedals. As mine is the smaller case size there's no room for a battery, but it might be possible that the larger sized case can accommodate a battery. Drop them an email to ask the question if you're tempted by one. Hope this helps.

I use [url="http://arachnidaudio.co.uk/product/amp-footswitch/"]one of these[/url] from Arachnid audio for channel switching on my Magellan 800. According to the blurb on their website it is a latching switch. I'm really pleased with it, it's well built, feels solid, looks great and, of course, does the job. Plus it's a bit cheaper than some of the other options available too. I don't think it states it on the website but there are several different LED colours available too. Mine has an externally powered LED with the internal polarity switch so you can choose which channel lights the LED up. If you're interested, drop them a line. They were very helpful when I dealt with them a few months ago.

As far as I'm aware, Zoom don't make a dedicated case for the B3n. I've got older B3 and use a [url="http://www.diy.com/departments/mac-allister-20-tool-case/1345840_BQ.prd"]smaller version of this[/url]. Couldn't find the smaller one online through! I don't remember the exact size, [size=4]but it was about £20 and[/size] it fits the B3 and power supply easily enough.

I'm not a big fan of aggressively bright high frequencies on bass either but I found that once the added treble from the Muscle Comp tone print is dialled back out again, you're left with a great punchy tone that helps to keep everything even with the band. I also backed off the horn in my cab too to help tame it. This isn't a problem for me as the Spectracomp is on all night and I don't change the tone print, but obviously it could become a faff if you plan to switch the pedal on and off as you might need to change eq settings too.

[/quote] Try giving the Muscle Comp tone print a go, that was created by a pick player (can't remember his name at the minute). Although I'm primarily a finger player these days it's my favourite tone print, I find it punchy and even across all strings. It does have a boost to the high end frequencies which will help accent the pick attack, if that's what you're looking for, but I prefer to eq it back out and it gives me a deep and even tone across the fretboard. Other than backing off the high end a touch my eq is usually flat as you need those upper mids to help make the higher strings sit in the mix.

Can't say that what I've heard on YouTube has convinced me that it's the sound I'm after, but we all know that gear sounds much different when you try it for real as opposed to listening to it online.

Does he, or can he, help design the image you want on your scratch plate? Or do you need to supply what you want and he just makes it? I've got an idea in mind but I'm not sure that my graphic design skills are up to much!
