  1. Read the description https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233538753279
  2. Yes agreed, I've had two Sandbergs and they are great. This is a great price too GLWTS
  3. This has been my experience, never had an issue that wasn't resolved amicably and I've sold some high value stuff on eBay. Like Dan Dare tho, I treat with caution.
  4. Alembics if I'm not mistaken Now I know your Moollon has an ebony fretboard I might have to sell a kidney
  5. That's proper rough. We've had a couple of incidents in Ilkeston ( a local town that's a tad rough and ready ) but nothing on this scale
  6. Sometimes for the pay, but mostly cos we're already booked (which doesn't count I guess). We had 3 dates booked at a local place with a great sound (and lights) guy, decent crowd and free pizza which got cancelled when a new landlord took over and said new landlords daughter expressed a dislike any of Mr Jones' stuff. No account of the people we pulled in or how nice we all are 😊. It's the pizza I'll miss the most + working with a top soundie and decent in house PA
  7. What an interesting thread I worked in the wholesale meat industry for many years (not a butcher, but I employed a few). BSE put paid to my business in 97 (well that and some bad management). I got to go to some interesting places...well one, Saudi Arabia. Then ended up working in the same industry for someone who I used to employ and that was ok (went to NZ a couple of times) and then working in printing and now building e-commerce websites. About to semi retire having sold my business to my studio manager. Ideally I'd like to work as a postman in the village I live so I'm waiting for an opening. Walk to work, plenty of exercise, home by 1.15, spot of lunch, play music all afternoon and work on stuff for my band, build the odd website every now and then, cook tea, watch Antiques Road Trip, early bed....bliss!
  8. pain in the *rse as they always want to play big booming bass notes which conflict with what I'm playing. Worked with a really good one doing a theatre project - he's also a bass player so kept right off the low-end and the sound was mint. Hard to find and usually playing in a gazzillion bands/projects
  9. Like many other BC'ers, I can only dream of playing in such a prestigeous gig, so thank you for sharing
  10. Mine wasn't at all heavy although it was s 4
  11. Cracking basses Sandberg's, I've had a couple I've just bought a Yammy fiver off of @Skinnymanor I'd have been all over this
  12. Bought a Matt black BB735A off Dave Cracking bass, Dave's a great guy and really easy to do business with
  13. February, it was my birthday on Thursday type bump
  14. So is David Bowie. I'm in a Bowie Tribute band. We interpret his songs and are not trying to look alike or sound alike - check our FB page and you'll see why (no apologies for attempting to get more likes) I like playing with great music with really good musicians, which I get from this band. As long as a band is playing well and I like the music, I'm not bothered who wrote it. Lot's of established artists cover other songs
  15. Just read the news. Very sad! I'll be thinking of him tomorrow when playing my M4V at a gig. Thank you for the music Mike, may you rest easy in Master Luthier heaven!
  16. Agreed.....mind you I'm in a tribute band.
  17. There's something in this I have a Mike Lull (fantastic) a Maruszczyk (nearly as good) and a Bass Collection precision that cost £100, which is not quite as good as the other 2 but not far behind at all. If I gigged the Bass Collection no-one would notice the difference sound-wise and it looks good too. Maybe as I'm an old git I remember the awful cheapo basses and guitars from the 70's which is why I've bought the expensive stuff
  18. Lovely. I have a Lull M4V which is fantastic. I'm off to count the sheckles and may well come back to you very soon
  19. The Immigrant Song and a few other Zep classics by JPJ after hearing ramble on and remembering what a lovely melodic bass line that is and just found this by the man himself so will be giving this a look/listen later
  20. I tried learning that one too....I only got half way there 😎
  21. Some i like...strictly for example. They present it like a panto which is entertaining and what the contestants are trying to do is difficult. Me and my lad used to drool over Ola Jordan (my lad is 28, so he's old enough to drool) and the missus worships the show so we always watch it. Some of the Bear Grylls stuff is good too. Now as to Love Island....do not get me started!
