I hope someone can help, our drummer is having a gig for his birthday next week in his barn which has a stage, PA, lighting, the whole nine yards (It really is very impressive). There will be musicians of all genres invited and playing but only one bass player (could be a long night for me). I have got chord charts for most of what people want to play and no real problem with any of it except The Logical Song and I can't figure out how to do the intro. Can anybody help please??. Much appreciated Steve

My world ends at the edge of the stage. I concentrate on what is happening on the stage and ignore everything else, but it is still nice when people applaud at the end. Enjoy it, it will be great.

I play a number of our songs with root notes and leading tones but "feel" the song and make use of note placement and length and light and shade. It doesn't always have to be fiddly and fancy bass lines to make the song sound good.

For some reason I struggle with Hotel California but mainly because my fingers refuse to do what my brain tells them.

I have just replaced two year old TI Jazz Flats with new TI Jazz Flats (on a Squier CV Jazz) and the difference is remarkable.

I like to be the cool dude at the back who holds it all together.

Was in our set list in the last band I was in. Good song, plenty of room for some nice bass twiddles.

Go back to the vendor and get the name and tracking number of the actual courier and track it on their website. Delivered on E-Bay might mean delivered to the courier company.

Oh, and he brings it all in a Fiat Punto - and he's Italian.

Think I have a chord chart in Em somewhere if it helps, we used to do this.

Record the gig if you can and then play it back so can hear what he does wrong (and how bad it sounds). He might just get a shock and sort himself out.

I have a Squier CV Jazz and a MIM Jazz. The MIM is an OK bass, strung with Fender flats, sounds okay and does the job. The Squier has a high mass bridge as opposed the BBOT on the Mex, strung with D'Addario Jazz Flats and has a beautiful warm mellow tone. My band mates prefer the sound of the Squier and for me the whole feel of it is better. (As good as the US Jazz I had before).

And does anyone know if these will work with Kindle??

I have one of each of these, a 2009 Squier CV and a MIM Fender. The Fender has a satin finish neck but a crappy bridge, the Squier has a hi-mass bridge and a gloss finish neck. I have Fender flats on the Fender and Jazz Flats on the Squier (much more expensive). We recorded some stuff recently so that we could listen to what we are doing wrong, and used both basses during the recording. They play equally well, but the Squier sounds much better on the recordings. That may be the better strings. I paid about £250 second hand for the Squier and about £375 new for the MIM I think. For me the Squier wins. Hope this helps
