1. Hi Dan Sorry I missed this earlier. Are you moving your whole household, or do you just want to move the basses?? Steve
2.
Not a very constructive comment however, i was wondering if the topic title is meant to be. Summer Bass Bass or Summer Bass Bash?
Guilty I think you're the first one who noticed.
3. **NEWS UPDATE** Nick has confirmed that those who wanted overnights (OTPJ and Monz) will be okay, and there may still be room I think for anyone else who wants to stay. Weather permitting we will be able to set up and jam outside, the nearest neighbours are about half a mile away I think, so no problem with noise, so we can jam well into the evening. With that in mind we still need the services of a drummer / guitarist and/or keyboards, so if anyone has band members who would like a jam let me know. If the weather is unkind there is still a seperate room for jamming and a further room for a chill out room. Contributions of food (and drink) will be appreciated, and again if the weather is good we can plan on eating outside. Wives/Significant others will be welcome if they fancy coming, there will (hopefully - if we get the muso's) be some good music to listen to, and the surroundings are superb. Plans are coming together quite well, there is no reason why we can't make this a bash to remember. Steve
4.
typical. Bass bash in range of me, and iv now sold all my bass gear! gahhhh!
Doesn't mean you can't bring food and drool over everone else's gear
5.
Can we each bring some stuff and have a picnic - weather permitting. Not very rock and roll perhaps but could be FUN.
That is what we did last time, but without the weather, so let's hope the sun shines for us, so bring some goodies folks and we can hopefully enjoy our food in the garden. We need a few raffle prizes please bass/music related or otherwise. Ped in reading can you let me know if we will have some tee shirts, and also if you are coming bring some raffle tickets. I can't remember how someone did a raffle last time by selling tickets through the forum, can the man who knows how that works step forward please and let us know. I have a couple of tutor books and a practice amp I can put in to start us off, so any offers gratefully received. Pictures from the previous bash at Nick's are here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...bash&st=100 Full directions will follow hopefully from Nick in a few days. Steve
6. Just a bumpy to make sure this hasn't been forgotten. I will check on numbers tomorrow to and work out what to do about food, if anyone has suggestions please shout up. I know two people are looking for stay overs which I think should be okay, I am just awaiting confirmation on that from Nick.
7. Time is tight - Booker T. Didn't play a bass for 30 years almost and when I picked a bass up I had it.
8. I had a P special in a 4 string, P & J Pickups and a jazz neck - really nice, and not expensive.
9. I had a P bass special, P & J pickups and a jazz neck, excellent for the money, about £180 now I think.
10.
Sorry Where exactly is it? Coudl you edit the top post with details? Ta
Shakenhurst Hall is close to Cleobury Mortimer, on the Shropshire / Worcestershire border, west of Kidderminster. If I remember correctly there is a set of directions that Nick put on the thread from last time we had a bash there, I will find it out and post it here.

12. Hi All We have a date now of 20th June for this event, which so far as I can see will work for quite a few people so the more the merrier. Any offers of items for a raffle would be much appreciated, especially as the proceeds will be towards our host's chosen charities. Ped is on the case trying to get us some tee shirts, and if we are very lucky we might get BGM to cover the event in the mag - at least we will give it a try. I will now put my thinking cap on and see what might be required in terms of food and drink, and how I am going to organise it. Steve
13. Can anybody interested let me know if they might be coming to this, and the dates they can make, 20th looks like it might work, but it would be nice to do whatever date suits most people. The more the merrier.
14. Bump just in case anybody missed it.
15. Saturday 20th looks like a possible, I will confirm with Nick that he is okay with that. I personally don't know Kelis, but NAS has been here a long time, although not always regularly.
16. It will be nice to see everyone again, I hope this will be bigger and better than last time.
17. Hi All As most of you know NAS has been kind enough to offer us the use of his house for a bash, and with time passing we are probably now looking at about mid June sometime. Those who have been before know how good this place is - so lets try to have a great bash and raise some money for Nick's chosen charities (the story of this is elsewhere on the forum - take a look if you haven't seen it). Nick has lots of amplification, including a 20 channel PA, and if I remember correctly there are 2 rooms available, so I guess one for display/trying out of basses, and I suppose if we have members who are also guitarists/drummers/keyboardists potentially a room where we can jam. (and if the weather is good we can spill into the 100's of acres outside). Can everbody interested let me know their favoured date, with the exception of Glasto weekend, when Nick will be there, along with many of us I guess. For those planning to travel a long distance there may be the possibility of guest rooms being available at Shakenhurst in return for a contribution towards laundry costs - more on this later when a date is confirmed. Let's know what everybody thinks, and as we can put some firm arrangements in place. Steve
18. Squier do something called a precision bass special which has a P pickup and a J pickup. I had one, nice bass.
19. Just getting to grips with Satin Doll - lovely
20. I play golf and cricket (batting) left handed, eat and write right handed, play drums left handed, bowl (cricket) right handed, play bass right handed, and kick with both feet but slightly predominantley left footed, and when firing a steam loco I can fire from the right side of the cab cos I shovel coal left handed.
21. Was Moody there?? - Not seen him lurking here for a while.
22. Hi All Sorry for the late notice, but the dragon in law is coming out of hospital this afternoon anfter a longish stay, so I may be grounded. I will do my best, I know which I would rather do!!. If I don't get there BB please PM me your paypal details, I will send over my entry money, not fair to let you down this late. Fingers crossed Steve
23. We can have a jazz corner. I will bring my combo, just the right size for us.
24. There will be a selection of Jazzes I think, I will bring me USA S1, and I think there is a VMJ in there somewhere too. Be interesting to compare them all.
